The Short Version

The ladies of Grant, Ronson & Greene are back — and this time the knives are coming out inside the firm.

Hulu has released the official trailer and key art for All’s Fair Season 2, with Ryan Murphy’s glossy legal drama returning on Wednesday, November 4. The new season launches with three episodes, followed by new installments every Wednesday, Memorable TV reports. It will stream on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the U.S., and on Disney+ internationally.

The trailer wastes no time telling you where this is going. Carrington “Carr” Lane — Sarah Paulson’s rival attorney — sets about bringing the all-female law firm down from the inside, according to Memorable TV’s trailer rundown. And if you needed proof that Season 2 is turning the volume all the way up, the AV Club flags the trailer’s signature moment: Glenn Close — sorry, Dina Standish — slapping Carrington Lane across the face, seconds after we are told these are ladies of law and order. New allegiances form, friendships crack, and a major revelation threatens the firm’s future.

The official synopsis, carried by multiple outlets, puts it this way: “The lawyers of Grant, Ronson & Greene are back for another season of scandals, secrets, and stilettos. As new allegiances form, friendships are tested and a shocking revelation threatens the very existence of the firm.”

The whole company is back. Kim Kardashian returns as Allura Grant alongside Naomi Watts as Liberty Ronson, Niecy Nash-Betts as Emerald Greene, Teyana Taylor as Milan, and Matthew Noszka as Chase Munroe — with Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close returning as Carrington Lane and Dina Standish. Cauã Reymond joins as a series regular playing Allura’s bodyguard, per Memorable TV and Bleeding Cool’s casting rundowns.

The guest-star bench is deep, too. Margo Martindale, Denise Richards, Jaime Pressly, and Robin Givens all turn up, alongside Grant Show and Real Housewives of New York’s Dorinda Medley — plus RuPaul’s Drag Race favorites Bob the Drag Queen and Monet X Change, Memorable TV reports.

Season 1 ended with a genuine cliffhanger: Dina Standish was taken away in handcuffs, arrested and charged with murder over the death of the man who had assaulted Emerald at a club, as Memorable TV’s recap notes. In the new trailer, the cuffs appear to be nowhere in sight — ComicBasics’ trailer coverage notes Dina looks free — while Paulson’s Carr continues her mission to destroy the firm from within. That rivalry was one of the first season’s most talked-about threads, and Season 2 looks ready to make it the whole show.

Then there is the critical conversation, which Murphy is clearly done ignoring. Season 1 took a beating from critics — the AV Club notes it overcame a 0% Rotten Tomatoes score to earn its renewal — and Murphy just went to bat for the show. Speaking to Vanity Fair, he said: “I think the critics are wrong.” As the Playlist’s trailer coverage reports, Murphy argued the series was always conceived in the heightened tradition of Dynasty and Knots Landing, and pushed back on the idea that it is simply camp. “The audience will ultimately have the final say,” he said.

Behind the camera, the machine is pure Murphy. He created the series with Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken; it is produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television. The executive producer list runs long: Murphy, Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Joe Baken, Nissa Diederich, Scott Robertson, Eric Kovtun, Anthony Hemingway, Louise Shore, Tanase Popa — plus Close, Watts, Paulson, Nash-Betts, and Taylor themselves, Laughing Place reports. The series also premiered at the Rome Film Festival ahead of its Hulu return, per the AV Club.

Kardashian, for her part, continues to build a second act as a television lead. She stars as Allura Grant and executive produces — the role follows her acting turn in American Horror Story: Delicate, and Murphy has clearly decided she is a small-screen fixture now. With Season 2 arriving almost exactly a year after the show’s debut, Hulu is betting the audience that made it a hit is still hungry.
