Doja Cat and Latto Launch Tour Ma Vie's 31-City North American Leg With 'Okayyy' Live in Detroit

Opening night at Little Caesars Arena delivered a 32-song set, the first-ever live performance of "Okayyy" with both artists onstage, and a statement: two of the biggest women in rap are sharing one tour for the next two months.

The Short Version

The moment came midway through Thursday's show at Little Caesars Arena, and the whole building seemed to know it before it happened. Latto walked back onstage — not for her own set this time, but for Doja Cat's — and the opening-night crowd got the first live performance of "Okayyy" with both artists together, a song whose studio version has been in rotation since the music video dropped in July. It was the payoff the whole night was engineered around: two of the biggest women in rap, sharing one stage, for the next two months.

The pairing was announced on July 21 in a characteristically goofy video: Doja Cat, holding a handycam, walking up to Latto and inviting her to join the tour bus across North America. It's not a few festival dates or a co-headline compromise — Latto is billed as the special guest on all 31 cities, from Detroit's opening night to the Madison Square Garden finale on December 1. She performs an opening set at every stop, then joins Doja for "Okayyy" during the main show. The bill is the same wherever you go, which means the only real choices for fans are the city, the date, and the seat.

The Detroit setlist: 32 songs, deep and current

Doja's opening-night set ran 32 songs deep, according to fan logs on setlist.fm — a survey of the whole career with a heavy lean into the present. Eleven tracks came from Vie, the album she's touring behind, including "Cards," "AAAHH MEN!," "Gorgeous," "Take Me Dancing," "Acts of Service," and "Jealous Type," which closed the show. Scarlet contributed eight songs, Planet Her six — and the fan favorites were all present and accounted for: "Kiss Me More," "Get Into It (Yuh)," "Woman" (with elements of "Naked"), "Agora Hills," "Paint the Town Red" (with a barricade walk and extended outro), "Need to Know," "Streets" (extended outro), "Tia Tamera," "Boss Bitch," "Say So," and "Juicy."

For the diehards, the night had real rarities. "Cyber Sex" got its tour debut — the first performance of the Hot Pink track since 2020. "You Right" (with The Weeknd, though performed solo here), "Shutcho," "97," and "Balut" all debuted on tour too. And "Silly! Fun!" and "Paint the Town Red" got the barricade-walk treatment, sending Doja out into the floor with the crowd — a reminder that even with production this big, she's still a performer who feeds on proximity.

The critical context for all that Vie material: Clash called the album "Doja Cat's 90's baby ode to 80's music," writing that it "draws from a spice rack of R&B, pop, funk, New Jack Swing, hip-hop and the list goes on." Variety, meanwhile, argued that it's "a record that reinforces that Doja doesn't need to fit into one box to become the artist she's meant to be." Onstage in Detroit, that no-box thesis was the whole set: rap, pop, R&B, and funk all sharing the same ninety-ish minutes without apologizing for any of it.

The "Okayyy" connection

"Okayyy" is technically Latto's song — it sits on Big Mama, her fourth studio album, released in May — with Doja Cat featured on the studio version. The music video dropped in July alongside the tour announcement, with the two playfully plugging each other in the comments section like co-conspirators. The handycam invitation video doubled as the video's promo and the tour reveal in one move, which is the kind of efficient mischief that only works when both artists are in on the joke.

The Latto booking landed with some extra weight because of what she said about Big Mama — she shook the industry with claims that it could be her retirement project from the new-music-release grind. Whether that holds or not, the tour says something different: she's not taking a backseat. A 31-city run as the special guest on one of the year's biggest tours is the opposite of stepping away. Whatever Latto's release schedule looks like next, she's spending the fall in front of arena crowds every single night.

Why this pairing matters

There is a version of this tour where Doja brings along a legacy act or a labelmate and nobody thinks twice. Instead, she booked the rapper who most directly mirrors her own lane: a woman in rap with genuine pop crossover, a hitmaker who can hold an arena on charisma alone. Doja's résumé — "Say So," "Kiss Me More," "Woman," "Paint the Town Red" — is a catalog most artists would kill for. Latto's is no slouch either: "Big Energy" made her a breakout star, "Sunday Service" and the Big Mama run showed she could rap with real bite, and her 2024 BET Awards performance of "Sunday Service" and "Big Mama" proved the live-show chops.

There's also a practical dimension. The Tour Ma Vie World Tour has been running since November 2025 — it launched in Auckland, worked through Oceania and Asia with Sailorr opening, and played Europe with Naomi Sharon on direct support. The North American leg is the victory lap and the commercial engine: 31 dates across the U.S. and Canada, arena-sized everywhere, with a bill that gives fans two headliner-caliber sets for one ticket. Two-and-a-half months is a long time to keep a tour this big moving, but the Detroit reception suggests the demand is there.

The road ahead

Tonight it's Chicago — the United Center hosts the second show on October 3. From there: Minneapolis (Target Center, Oct 4), Kansas City, Denver, Salt Lake City, then a West Coast swing through Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco (Chase Center), Sacramento, and Los Angeles (Kia Forum, Oct 22). San Diego, Phoenix, and a Halloween-night show at Las Vegas's T-Mobile Arena close out October. November runs through Texas (Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Houston), Florida (Miami, Tampa, Orlando), Atlanta (State Farm Arena, Nov 17 — Latto's hometown show), Charlotte, Baltimore, Washington DC, Boston (TD Garden), Toronto, Montreal, and Philadelphia before the December 1 finale at Madison Square Garden.

Tickets are on sale now through Doja Cat's official site, with VIP packages available through VIP Nation. Sold-out shows are circulating on resale through StubHub and Vivid Seats, so if you're locked in on a specific city, move now — the same-bill-everywhere format means the venue, the date, and the seat are the only variables left.
