LONDON — The countdown to Grand Theft Auto VI is now measured in days, and Rockstar Games is spending them on newsstands. LOVE Magazine's Issue 27 goes on sale today, Monday, carrying a GTA VI cover feature with original Rockstar cover art of protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos under the cover line "America's Most Wanted" — the second major print push of the pre-launch campaign, arriving exactly 45 days before the game launches.
01The cover and the four screenshots
LOVE, the UK-based fashion magazine, revealed its GTA VI cover feature through its official Instagram on Oct 2, three days before the issue's on-sale date. The cover carries original artwork created by Rockstar of the game's two protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, billed with the cover line "America's Most Wanted." Alongside the cover, the magazine released four new official screenshots from the game.
The first shows Jason and Lucia seated in a diner, with Lucia's hand resting on a pistol beneath the table — a small detail that says plenty about the tone of the pair's story. The second places them at a pool table in a biker-bar setting. The third is a motorcycle scene, and the fourth is a black-and-white portrait of the two leads. KeenGamer's coverage of the reveal walked through all four images, singling out the diner shot as the standout of the set.

The images are the first new official screenshots released outside the trailer cycle, and they arrive at a moment when every new frame of Leonida is being catalogued in detail. For a campaign that has kept its cards close, four screenshots and a fashion-magazine cover in a single week is a deliberate quickening of the pace.
02Jason and Lucia, in Rockstar's words
The feature's interviews are the most substantial on-the-record comments Rockstar has given about the game's leads. Speaking to LOVE are Rob Nelson, co-studio head and head of development at Rockstar North; Rupert Humphries, senior vice president of narrative; and writers Elizabeth Gauvey-Kern and Alexa D'Agostino.
Rockstar described Jason and Lucia as "vulnerable, tough, flawed" and "perfectly imperfect," per the magazine, and, according to the magazine, characterized their crime spree as "hopeful and naive" — language that points to a story about two people in over their heads rather than hardened criminals. Lucia is described as the series' first fully voiced female protagonist, a milestone for a franchise that has never centered a playable woman in a mainline entry.
The duo at the center of the story has been the frame for the game since its first trailer, and the LOVE interviews sharpen it: these are not kingpins, but people whose ambitions outrun their circumstances. It is a notably human pitch for a series known for larger-than-life criminals.
03Leonida: the biggest, most densely packed map yet
Rockstar pitched Leonida as the biggest and most densely packed map the studio has built for a Grand Theft Auto game, according to the feature. The state includes a return to Vice City alongside Everglades-like swampland, and the world is stocked with systems-level detail: hurricanes that roll through the region, more than 170 animal species, and the series' trademark background texture of talk radio, in-world advertisements, and even political robocalls.

Humphries told LOVE that Leonida is an exaggerated version of the modern world rather than a literal recreation of Florida — a distinction that matters for a satire that needs room to invent. The density claim is the one to watch: "biggest" has been true of nearly every GTA in sequence, but "most densely packed," as Softonic reported the feature put it, is the specific promise, and it sets up a map meant to reward lingering rather than just traversal. 04Satire, and the realism question
The game's satire, per the interviews, takes aim at influencer culture, internet behavior, and the everyday weirdness of digital life — rendered, in Rockstar's phrasing, "more over the top, more insane, more in your face" than the real thing. That is familiar territory for the series, but the target has moved since the last entry: the attention economy is now the culture, not a corner of it.
On the craft side, Nelson addressed how far the studio pushes realism. Rockstar does not pursue realism for its own sake, he told LOVE — the team leans into realism where it deepens immersion and steps away from it wherever player convenience matters. It is a useful statement of intent from a studio whose worlds are often mistaken for simulations: the goal is a place that feels real, not one that behaves like reality when reality would be tedious.
05The 45-day countdown
The LOVE issue is the second major print push of the pre-launch campaign, following a Game Informer cover roughly a month ago — a deliberate drumbeat as Rockstar moves from trailers into long-form press. Grand Theft Auto VI launches Nov 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, which puts today exactly 45 days out.
The game's ESRB rating is already public: M for Mature, citing blood and gore, intense violence, mature humor, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content, and the use of drugs and alcohol, with a note on in-game purchases. None of that surprises for the series, but the rating's presence on the record this far out is another marker that the launch machinery is fully in motion. With the fashion-press flank now covered, the remaining weeks belong to the final stretch of the campaign. More on the road to launch in our latest news.
06Meanwhile, in Miami
The launch is spilling into the real world beyond the press. The Miami Heat announced "A Night in Vice City" for Nov 18 — the eve of launch — when the team hosts the Milwaukee Bucks at the Kaseya Center. The night includes a one-off Vice City court design and Vice City uniforms, tying the city's basketball team directly to the game's fictional home.
The announcement came from the Heat; Rockstar itself has not confirmed the event, per the team's announcement, so the precise shape of any collaboration remains the Heat's telling for now. Softonic, covering the week's GTA news, flagged the date alignment — a Vice City night on the eve of a Vice City launch — as cross-promotion timed to the launch calendar. Whether or not Rockstar shows up in an official capacity, Miami is already dressing for the occasion.
