October in Las Vegas: Bellagio Goes Autumn, Downtown Goes Haunted, 2027 Goes Big

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2026 — There is no such thing as a slow month in Las Vegas, but October is the city showing off. The Strip and downtown are moving into the final quarter of 2026 with a dense pipeline of Halloween spectacles, holiday previews, restaurant openings and resort milestones — while the 2027 calendar is already filling with the kind of headliners that make the rest of the country jealous. Here is what the city looks like right now, from a woodland autumn inside Bellagio to a haunted hotel at the Palms.

On the StripAutumn arrives at Bellagio

The most photographed room in Las Vegas has changed seasons. Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens has opened its fall 2026 installation, Casting Tranquility…Autumn Artistry, designed by Ed Libby and realized with Bellagio’s horticulture team. The display leans into handcrafted woodland creatures, a New England-inspired cabin, water features and heirloom-pumpkin forms — an autumn dreamscape under the Conservatory’s famous glass roof, and the rare Vegas attraction that is completely free.

The harvest display runs through November 7, which makes it the rare October plan that doesn’t require a costume or a cover charge. Go at opening for the thinnest crowds; go at night when the lighting turns the whole thing golden. Either way, it is the city’s most reliable reminder that fall exists, even in the desert.

DowntownHalloween goes big

Downtown is not doing subtle this Halloween. The Fremont Street Experience will turn the canopy into a nightlong costume party on October 31 with “Costumes Under The Canopy,” featuring free live entertainment, a silent “spooky” disco, food trucks and an over-the-top costume contest awarding $8,500 in cash prizes to three winners. If you have ever wanted to get paid for your Halloween costume, this is the year.

A few blocks away, the Palms Casino Resort has opened the doors to The Haunted Inn, its new immersive haunted hotel experience — the third concept from the Palms Popup Playhouse, following Santa’s Saloon and Camp Palms: No Kids Allowed. The limited-run Halloween hotel welcomes guests through October 31 with no cover, transporting visitors into a dilapidated supernatural hotel where cocktails arrive in poison bottles, doll-head mugs, blood bags, mini-coffins and skeleton hands, alongside original characters, live entertainment, comedy and theatrical environments. And for the tiki crowd: Glitter Gulch Tiki at 113 N. 4th St. has transformed into “Tiki in Wonderland” for all of October, with an Alice in Wonderland-inspired atmosphere and five limited-time cocktails. Wonderland, but with rum.

Looking ahead2027 is already loaded

While October belongs to Halloween, the smart money is already looking at 2027 — and the calendar is stacked. The Sphere, Allegiant Stadium and the major casino theaters are lining up a headliner roster that includes John Mayer, Oasis, Oprah Winfrey and Marc Anthony, among other returning favorites. The dining scene is moving just as fast. New and refreshed concepts include Henderson Sport & Social, the interactive gaming venue Activate, new restaurant openings at El Cortez, a new Momofuku concept and the Stix Asia food hall — a reminder that Vegas’s food evolution is happening as quickly off-Strip as on it. On the accolades front, Fontainebleau earned a repeat MICHELIN Key and the Waldorf Astoria’s spa picked up fresh recognition, because this town collects hospitality awards the way other cities collect parking tickets.

The milestoneNine years of WOW

And a tip of the hat to a survivor: WOW – The Vegas Spectacular just marked nine years at the Rio, crossing the 3,500-performance milestone this month. The 90-minute production — acrobatics, aerial work, water effects, comedy and dance in a 180-degree theater built around a 1,000-square-foot liquid centerpiece — has now played for more than 2.5 million people, winning Best Acrobatic Show Gold in both 2024 and 2025.
