SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2026 — October is about to be a Migos month — four years after the group’s ending was written in stone. On Friday, October 2, Quavo released QRÖMELIFE, his third solo album, executive-produced by Pharrell Williams. And on the very same day, Offset sat down with PAPER Magazine and announced that his own new album arrives October 23. “I’m back to the music, and away from the bullsh*t,” Offset said in the video. “I got some fire and I’m ready for the world to see what’s happening, what’s on my mind.” He didn’t reveal a title or a tracklist. He didn’t need to. The date was the message.
The symmetry is the story. Two former Migos, dropping solo albums in the same month, with one appearing on the other’s record — Offset is featured on QRÖMELIFE’s “Away,” track 4 of 14. After years in which Quavo and Offset’s relationship was defined by distance, grief, and slow public reconciliation, October 2026 is the first time both have stood this close on the calendar — and the first time they’ve traded verses on a record in the new era.
Offset’s October 23 album
Details are thin by design. In the PAPER video, Offset framed the project as a reset — back to the music, away from everything else. The announcement lands less than two months after his single “Something I Need,” released September 18 via Motown Records: a sleek, minimal-but-driving record produced by Southside, Smatt Sertified, and Jester Beats, with a cinematic video filmed in Miami — Offset partying on a yacht, directed by MikeyRare and SheShe Pendleton.
The new album follows Kiari — Offset’s birth name — released August 22, 2025 by Motown, his third studio album, featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again, YFN Lucci, Gunna, JID, Key Glock, Teezo Touchdown, John Legend, and Ty Dolla Sign, later expanded with the deluxe Kiari: Offset (adding CeeLo Green, Drowning Pool, and Bnyx). Kiari was the introspective chapter. This one, by Offset’s own framing, is the return to rap.

QRÖMELIFE, the Quavo side of the month
Quavo’s album is the bigger known quantity, and it’s a big swing: 14 tracks, executive-produced by Pharrell Williams, built over more than 18 months of sessions that ran from Louis Vuitton’s Paris headquarters to a yacht in Miami. The guest list reads like a summit: Offset on “Away”; Pharrell, Tyler, the Creator, and A$AP Rocky on “Baby Breath”; Future on “BA”; T.I. on “Backwards”; plus Lil Baby, Yung Miami, and Justin Timberlake.
The rollout was pure Pharrell theater. “HAAVIN” debuted as the opening soundtrack to Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2027 men’s show in Paris. “Trance” followed. Then Quavo premiered “Backwards” with T.I. live at WWE’s Sunday Night Main Event, carrying Atlanta rap onto wrestling’s biggest stage. The album is also available on CD — a physical release in an era when most rap albums are stream-only.
It’s Quavo’s third solo LP and his first since 2023’s Rocket Power — the grief-shaped album named for Takeoff’s nickname. QRÖMELIFE is billed as the next chapter: everything he’s experienced, looking firmly forward.

How Migos ended
To understand why “Away” matters, you have to remember where Quavo and Offset stood not long ago. In May 2022, Offset unfollowed Quavo and Takeoff on social media; Quavo and Takeoff continued as the duo Unc & Phew and released Only Built for Infinity Links that October. Then, on November 1, 2022, Takeoff — born Kirshnik Khari Ball, Quavo’s nephew — was shot and killed at 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston. He was 28.
The grief froze everything. Quavo and Offset reunited publicly at the 2023 BET Awards for a tribute performance of “Hotel Lobby” and “Bad and Boujee,” with an empty spotlight left for Takeoff — but the moment read as a farewell, not a reunion. That October, Offset confirmed on Hot 97 that Migos had officially disbanded: Takeoff had been “the glue” and “the real leader,” and continuing “wouldn’t be right.” Culture III (2021) became the final album — and for three years, that looked like the end of the story.

The thaw
The thaw has been slow and public. On September 26, Quavo held a listening party for QRÖMELIFE in Los Angeles; Offset showed up, and video of the two listening — and dancing — side by side circulated everywhere. Three days later, Quavo told Idea Generation that losing Takeoff had “eased it a little bit” between them: the things that used to frustrate him “don’t seem as big anymore.”
Then came the big confirmation. Speaking to V-103’s DJ Greg Street earlier this month, Quavo said the group is “coming back”: “We’re going to do it one more time. Long live the Rocket… We’re going to tour. We’re going to do it right.” To Hot 97’s Nessa, he went further — a final Migos project, honoring Takeoff with posthumous vocals, built to sound “as if he was here.” “We owe the fans at least the music,” he said. “What he was working on and what we still had. The legacy must still go on.”
Why this October matters
Zoom out and the picture is remarkable. Migos — the group that Drake’s 2013 “Versace” remix carried to the world, that made the triplet flow (which Takeoff created) the sound of a decade, that turned Culture into a franchise — dissolved in public, buried its youngest member, and said its goodbye on the BET stage. Now the two survivors are dropping solo albums three weeks apart and trading verses again.
Is it a Migos reunion? Not officially — Quavo is careful with the word, and Offset hasn’t said it at all. But “Away” is the first Quavo-and-Offset record of the new era, the planned final group project with Takeoff’s unreleased vocals is the closest thing the rap world has to a miracle, and for the first time in four years, the Migos story is being written forward instead of backward.
