Sunday, October 4, 2026 — The mystery is over. OnePlus has officially confirmed that its next flagship, the OnePlus 16, will launch on October 12.
The announcement came via a post on Weibo, where OnePlus said its upcoming all-around flagship smartphone "will go live on October 12." The date continues the company's tradition of October flagship launches — the OnePlus 13 arrived October 31 and the OnePlus 15 on October 27.
China first, then the world
The October 12 date is most likely the China launch. Availability in other regions, including India, remains unconfirmed. For reference, last year's OnePlus 15 launched in India on November 13 — 14 days after its China debut. A similar cadence would put the OnePlus 16 in India around October 26, though that is speculation.
What we know
Almost everything about the phone's specifications has already surfaced online; the date was the last missing piece. At its event, OnePlus showcased the unannounced phone's gaming 185fps gaming mode — an unusually high frame-rate target that signals a serious play for mobile gamers.
The OnePlus 15 is widely considered one of the best Android phones of recent years, so the 16 arrives with high expectations — and into a crowded October that also includes Apple's first foldable and a wave of Chinese flagships.
