Let’s be precise: Reacher season 4 isn’t upcoming — it premiered August 12 on Prime Video with three episodes, rolled out weekly, and wrapped September 16 with the finale “Cut.” So the honest version of this story is a season report card plus a look at what’s next. And what’s next is plenty.

Season 4 adapted Lee Child’s Gone Tomorrow — the 2009 novel, the thirteenth in the series — relocating the book’s New York subway opening to Philadelphia. The setup: Reacher encounters a distressed woman on a train, mistakes her for a suicide bomber, and watches her take her own life — pulling him into a conspiracy involving a missing USB drive, a possible bioweapon angle, and enemies at the highest ranks of power. Alan Ritchson’s Reacher is joined by Maria Sten’s Frances Neagley, Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo and Anggun as Lila and Amisha Hoth, Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette, and Kevin Corrigan.

The notable shift this season: political intrigue and espionage over pure brawling, and a Reacher who’s sloppier and more mistake-prone than usual — especially in episode seven. That’s a deliberate choice, and mostly a good one. A Reacher who can be wrong is a Reacher who can be interesting.

And now the future, which Amazon has made unusually clear: season 5 was renewed back in May 2026 — before season 4 even aired — and season 6 followed in September. Season 5 is already filming in Ontario under the codename “Honcho,” with Ritchson posting from snowy cornfields in mid-September; the winter setting points at a late-2027 arrival. Meanwhile the Neagley spinoff premiered all eight episodes the same day as the season 4 finale — a more psychological, character-driven take on Maria Sten’s fan-favorite investigator.
