Sunday, October 4, 2026 — The AI glasses race is heating up. Samsung's Galaxy Glasses with Gemini AI are reportedly set to launch globally next month — the company's first entry into the smart glasses market.
According to reports surfacing October 1, Samsung is preparing a global launch of its Gemini-powered smart glasses as soon as November. The glasses would put Google's Gemini assistant directly on the user's face — for translation, navigation, notifications, and camera-based queries.
Meta just raised the bar
The timing is pointed. At Meta Connect in late September, Meta expanded its AI wearables lineup with the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 — adding Aviator and Zena frame styles alongside the Wayfarer, with improvements across battery life, audio capture, camera capabilities, and design. The Gen 3 just hit India at Rs. 44,300.
Meta also showed Meta VR Glasses at the event, signaling it sees glasses — not headsets — as the next computing platform.
Why Samsung matters here
Samsung brings two things Meta doesn't: the Galaxy ecosystem (hundreds of millions of phones to pair with) and Gemini — Google's assistant, which is rapidly becoming the default AI on Android. A Gemini-native pair of glasses, distributed through Samsung's carrier and retail channels worldwide, would be the most serious challenger the Ray-Ban Metas have faced.
Details on pricing, specs, and exact markets are still under wraps. But if the November window holds, the holiday season will feature a genuine two-horse race for your face.
