Some partnerships are built to last. Fifteen years and five albums into one of modern rock’s most enduring collaborations, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators are back — and they did not come back quietly. The band released the new single and official video “Flying Blind” on Friday, the title track from their fifth studio album FLYING BLIND, due worldwide February 26, 2027 via Gibson Records. A world tour is announced. Tickets go on sale October 9. Rock ’n’ roll, it turns out, is alive and well.

The single“Flying Blind” is out now

“Flying Blind” is an anthem in the classic SMKC mold — big riffs, bigger chorus, and Myles Kennedy singing like the roof is on fire. The official video, shot on location at the legendary Viper Room in Los Angeles and directed by John Harvatine IV, puts the band where they belong: on a stage, loud, with nowhere to hide. As a first taste of the album, it is a statement of intent — this is not a band in a reflective mood. This is a band plugging in.

The single is out now across all digital platforms, with pre-saves and pre-orders open for the album. For a fanbase that has followed this collaboration since its early-2010s beginnings, the arrival of new music from Slash and Kennedy remains an event — the guitarist is a living legend, the singer is one of rock’s great voices, and together they have a chemistry that has outlasted most marriages in the music business.

The albumTwelve tracks, one week, all live

The album’s backstory is almost as good as the music promises to be. FLYING BLIND was recorded largely live with longtime producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette at Studio Barbarosa in Florida — all five members in the same room, playing together, capturing takes rather than constructing them. The band completed the bulk of the 12-track record in approximately one week, often cutting two songs a day.

“It’s a really fun, kind of spontaneous rock ’n’ roll record,” Slash said of the album. “It’s very straightforward and down-to-earth and raw.” That approach suits this band perfectly. SMKC has always been at its best when it sounds like five musicians in a room feeding off each other — Slash’s guitar (and, notably, pedal steel on this record) weaving around Kennedy’s vocals, with Todd Kerns on bass, Brent Fitz on drums and Frank Sidoris on rhythm guitar locking in the foundation. A week-long live session is the purest possible version of that.

The partnershipFifteen years, five albums, zero drama

The Slash-Myles Kennedy partnership is one of rock’s great slow burns. It began in 2010, when Kennedy — then best known as the voice of Alter Bridge — started touring with Slash’s solo band, and it hardened into a true collaboration across four studio albums: Apocalyptic Love (2012), World on Fire (2014), Living the Dream (2018) and 4 (2022). Each record tightened the formula: Slash’s blues-drenched riffing, Kennedy’s stratospheric vocals, and a rhythm section — Kerns, Fitz and Sidoris — that plays like a single organism.

What’s remarkable is the absence of drama. In an era of rock reunions, breakups and tell-all memoirs, SMKC has simply kept showing up — recording, touring, repeating — for a decade and a half. FLYING BLIND, the fifth chapter, arrives on Gibson Records, the label Slash launched to put his music exactly where he wants it. The Viper Room video location is a nice touch of symmetry: a Sunset Strip landmark for a guitarist who helped define the Strip’s sound. Some partnerships are built to last. This one just keeps proving it.

The tour2027, worldwide

Then there is the tour. The Flying Blind World Tour 2027 is officially announced, with fans able to sign up now for early ticket access ahead of the general on-sale on October 9 at slashonline.com. Dates are rolling out, and if the band’s touring history is any guide, this will be a global run hitting the rooms — and the arenas — where rock ’n’ roll still matters most.

Fifteen years in, the Slash-Myles Kennedy partnership has become one of rock’s reliable institutions: no drama, no hiatus teasing, just records and tours. FLYING BLIND looks like more of exactly what made the collaboration work in the first place — spontaneous, raw, and straight down the middle. The single is out now. The album lands February 26. See you on tour.
