Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Step Out for a Rare Public Date Night on His 37th Birthday

The newlyweds held hands arriving at Torrisi in SoHo on Monday — one day after the Chiefs' 30-27 win over the Raiders, and on the heels of Swift's history-making chart week.

For one night, the most scrutinized couple in America did something simple: they went to dinner. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were photographed arriving hand-in-hand at Torrisi, the Michelin-starred Italian restaurant in SoHo, on Monday night — Kelce's 37th birthday — in a rare public outing since their July wedding at Madison Square Garden.

01 A Birthday Dinner, SoHo Style

The couple was spotted on Kelce's birthday at Torrisi, the upscale Italian restaurant on Mulberry Street co-founded by restaurateur Mario Carbone, according to reports from People and JustJared. Photos showed the pair arriving together, holding hands — coordinating their looks in all black for the night out.

Swift, 36, wore a black lace-trimmed midi dress paired with strappy heels and a black leather bomber jacket, People reported. Kelce, 37, opted for an autumnal black cardigan, black trousers and leather dress shoes. The outing was first picked up by fan accounts including @TheSwiftSociety before entertainment outlets confirmed the details.

Torrisi has become something of a reliable haunt for celebrity New York nights out — the Mulberry Street dining room earned a Michelin star in 2023 and has been a fixture on the city's reservation bucket lists since it opened, as part of Carbone's Major Food Group empire.

JustJared also noted the fashion flex Kelce brought to Sunday's game before the birthday dinner: his game-day arrival outfit was valued at $94,000 — a reminder that even his walk to the locker room has become its own storyline. Monday night's look was quieter, all autumnal blacks, as if the statement that evening was the company, not the clothes.

The timing was as good as it gets. Kelce rang in 37 with the kind of weekend most athletes only dream about: a win on Sunday, a birthday dinner with his wife on Monday, and a bye week ahead — no game film, no travel, no early-morning practice to cut the night short.

02 One Day After 30–27

Twenty-four hours earlier, Kelce was on the field at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, where the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Las Vegas Raiders 30-27 on Sunday afternoon to stay perfect. Previously's recap has the full story of the desert duel, which kept Kansas City unbeaten heading into its bye.

The win was Kansas City's fourth straight to open the season, keeping the Chiefs unbeaten at 4-0 — and it set up the happiest possible version of a bye week: first place, no game to prepare for, and a birthday dinner waiting in New York.

Swift did not attend the game in Las Vegas — she was in New York, where she crashed Dakota Johnson's Saturday Night Live monologue as her "literal therapist" the night before. It's a pattern for the couple: she is a fixture at Chiefs home games in Kansas City and picks her road-game spots carefully.

The win didn't come free. Monday brought the injury fallout — Tyquan Thornton faces a 12-to-16-week timeline and Rashee Rice is dealing with a minor hamstring issue — which makes the timing of the bye week even sweeter for Kansas City. The Chiefs are off this weekend and don't play again until Sunday, Oct. 18 at home, per JustJared — meaning Kelce gets an uninterrupted birthday week in New York with his wife.

03 Her Birthday Gift to Herself: Another No. 1

If Kelce had the game, Swift had the charts. "Patient Zero," her new single, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 — her 16th career chart-topper and her fourth to reach the summit in 2026, according to JustJared. Her three other new songs from The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore all debuted inside the Top 5. Previously covered the chart milestone in full here.

The deluxe edition of her 2025 album has kept her in the spotlight all autumn — including "Cleveland!," the track that nods to Kelce's hometown and got an honest review from the Kelce brothers on the Sept. 30 episode of New Heights. "Cleveland is rocking right now!" Travis declared on the podcast, shouting out "Tay Tay" for giving the city "a little more life." His brother Jason added that he and wife Kylie Kelce have had the song on heavy rotation at home: "Dude, that song is incredible," he said.

Swift's lyric video for "Cleveland!" leans into the family story, featuring personal footage of the couple traveling to his hometown, per People — one of the few windows into their private world since the wedding.

04 The Quiet Era Continues (Mostly)

The SoHo sighting matters precisely because there have been so few of them. Since tying the knot at Madison Square Garden in a star-studded ceremony on July 3, the couple has kept an unusually low profile — no red carpets, no staged appearances, just the occasional fan-captured glimpse and Swift's selective Chiefs-game attendance.

That's been the trade all season: Kelce grinding through the early schedule with the undefeated Chiefs while Swift stacks chart weeks and makes her New York appearances count. The birthday dinner broke the pattern just enough to remind everyone why the pattern works — two of the most famous people on the planet, holding hands, walking into an Italian restaurant on a Monday night in October.

With the bye week stretching ahead and the next Chiefs home game not until Oct. 18, this is as close to a normal week as the newlyweds get. Expect Swift back in a suite at Arrowhead before long — and if the Chiefs keep winning, expect more nights like this one.
