Young Thug Brings the New Generation Tour to YouTube Theater Tomorrow

His first headlining run in seven years closes its U.S. leg Sunday in Inglewood — with NAV on every date and YSL's next wave along for the ride.

The Short Version

Tomorrow night, one of hip-hop's most influential voices takes the stage in Inglewood for the final U.S. date of his first headlining tour in seven years. Young Thug's New Generation Tour — presented by Young Stoner Life Records — hits YouTube Theater on Sunday, October 4, with NAV riding shotgun on every U.S. date and YSL's newest signees opening the show. After a month of sold-out rooms and surprise guests, the home-stretch date is shaping up to be the tour's biggest statement yet.

The numbers explain the anticipation. More than a decade into his career, Thug holds three No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, two consecutive No. 1 solo albums on the Billboard 200, and more than 30 RIAA Gold and Platinum certifications. His live shows have always been loose, charismatic, and unpredictable — and seven years of pent-up demand from his fanbase has made every stop on this run feel electric.

The comeback run

The tour kicked off September 1 at the Walmart AMP in Rogers, Arkansas, and has been rolling through the country ever since — Minneapolis, Chicago, Sterling Heights, Camden, Boston, New York, Washington, Virginia Beach, Charlotte, Raleigh, Atlanta, Tampa, Birmingham, Houston, Irving, Austin, and Phoenix. Sunday's YouTube Theater date is the last stop on the North American leg before the tour heads overseas, with the announced run concluding October 24 at Adidas Arena in Paris.

The announcement followed Thug's standout Coachella performance earlier this year, which featured special guest appearances and fan-favorite hits — the first real signal that a full return to the road was coming. This tour is that return, delivered in full.

Who's on the bill

Rather than booking one traditional opening act, Thug is bringing the next wave of his label on the road. The openers are YSL Records' newest signees — Tezzus, Diamond*, 1300saint, Iyrus, Yume, Biggs, and Unky — giving fans a first look at the artists shaping the label's next chapter. It's a deliberate passing-of-the-torch framing: the tour is called New Generation for a reason.

The featured special guest is NAV, who has joined every U.S. date. The Toronto rapper, singer, and producer has a long collaborative history with Thug — songs like "Tussin," "No Debate," and "Trimski" — and his sets have been a highlight of the run, running through fan favorites including "Wanted You," "beibs in the trap," "Turks," "Lemonade," "Recap," "Minute," "Myself," "Never Sleep," "Know Me," "Did You See NAV?," "Hit," "MUTT," "Baguettes in the Face," "Champion," and "Tap."

What the setlist looks like

A month into the tour, a clear shape has emerged. Per setlists logged on setlist.fm, the show typically opens with Thug performing "Ski" solo, then moves into a Slime Language 3 block with his YSL signees — "Consummate," "ØWAYSL," "Cha Ney Ney," "Function," and "Bvlgari" — before the main solo set kicks in. From there it's hit after hit: "WOAH" (with NAV), "OUT WEST," "Mamacita," "Digits," "Relationship," "Bad Bad Bad," "Pick Up the Phone," "Trance," "Danny Glover," "Hot," "Wyclef Jean," "Lifestyle," and "Money On Money."

But the tour's real currency has been its surprises. In Atlanta on September 20, Quavo joined Thug on stage — performing "Bad and Boujee" and the live debut of "Mob Guys" — while Lil Baby appeared for "Dead Fresh" and "Freestyle" and Mariah the Scientist joined for "Burning Blue." The Atlanta show ended early when the venue's curfew cut the microphone during "Feel It," a reminder that these nights have been running hot. In Chicago on September 5, fans got an encore built around "Trimski" — Thug and NAV's joint record — plus a full NAV set of his own.

If the pattern holds, YouTube Theater should expect the same structure — the YSL showcase, the solo hits, NAV's set — with the very real possibility of one more hometown-style surprise. Los Angeles shows have a way of drawing guests out of the woodwork.

Why this tour matters

Seven years is a long time between headlining tours — long enough for an entire generation of rap fans to have discovered Young Thug without ever seeing him top a bill. In that gap, his influence only grew: the melodic, elastic flow he pioneered became the default language of mainstream rap, and YSL became one of the most important incubators in the genre. This tour is both a victory lap and a handoff — the veteran proving he still commands a stage, and the label's new signees getting introduced to arenas before they've had to earn them the hard way.

The Coachella set was the proof of concept. The New Generation Tour is the full statement. And tomorrow night in Inglewood, the U.S. gets its last look — before Thug takes the whole thing to Paris.
