Where They Stand
Boston chose change after a 56-26 season ended in another blown 3-1 first-round lead, this time to Philadelphia. On July 1 the Celtics traded Jaylen Brown to the 76ers for Paul George and draft picks, then added Mitchell Robinson and Mike Conley to a roster built around a now-healthy Jayson Tatum.
Tatum told reporters at media day he feels 'great' and is fully off the injury report after the Achilles rupture that derailed the 2025 playoffs. Joe Mazzulla called the George pairing a jolt of excitement, camp opened Sept 29, and the Celtics hold part of preseason at The Citadel before Opening Night, Oct 20 at Detroit.
