Where They Stand
Charlotte begins its first season without LaMelo Ball, traded to Minnesota in July, and without Miles Bridges, sent to Phoenix a week later. The returns — Naz Reid, Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale, Dennis Schröder and a haul of draft capital — gave head coach Charles Lee a deeper, older, defense-first roster.
The 44-38 campaign that ended in the play-in is the floor Lee wants to raise. Kon Knueppel led the entire league in threes as a rookie (273) but opens camp sidelined with a hamstring injury, as does Grant Williams. Training camp runs Sept 29–Oct 2 at The Citadel in Charleston, and preseason opens Oct 6 against Brooklyn at Spectrum Center.
