Where They Stand
Miami made the summer's biggest move on July 6, acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis from Milwaukee for Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel'el Ware and draft picks. Erik Spoelstra now coaches the 43-39 play-in squad's most talented roster in years.
Klay Thompson arrived on a two-year, $11.5 million deal after his Dallas buyout and is the front-runner to start at shooting guard, while Tim Hardaway Jr. and Nick Richards add veteran depth around Bam Adebayo — fresh off an 83-point night against Washington in March. Camp is in Boca Raton; preseason opens Oct 3 in Quebec City, and the season tips Oct 21 against Minnesota at Kaseya Center.
