Where They Stand
Milwaukee is a new franchise in the same uniforms. Giannis Antetokounmpo was traded to Miami, leaving no players from the 2021 championship roster, and new head coach Taylor Jenkins opens his first season with a revamped camp of 16 guaranteed contracts that must shed a player before opening night. The return package delivered Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel'el Ware and Kasparas Jakucionis; Myles Turner arrived from Indiana; and rookies Brayden Burries (No. 10) and Nate Ament (No. 13) headline the youth wave.
Camp buzz centers on the frontcourt pairing of Ware and Turner and an accountability reset after a 32-50 season that ended without a playoff berth. A camp photo of Ryan Rollins, Herro, Jaquez, Kyle Kuzma and Turner huddled in blue jerseys hinted at the potential starting five. Milwaukee plays five preseason games, opening Oct. 5 at Fiserv Forum against Minnesota, then travels to Oklahoma City, Charlotte and Indianapolis with a home date against Chicago in between.
