Tenzing

A biographical drama from director Jennifer Peedom (Sherpa) and writer Luke Davies, retelling the 1953 first ascent of Mount Everest through the eyes of Tenzing Norgay (Genden Phuntsok), the Sherpa climber who reached the summit alongside Edmund Hillary (Tom Hiddleston). As expedition leader John Hunt (Willem Dafoe) assembles the British team, Tenzing pushes to be counted as a climber rather than support staff, and to honor the mountain he reveres as Chomolungma. The Apple Original Film premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in September 2026.
