About The Fantasy Footballers
The Fantasy Footballers is the number-one fantasy football podcast in America — and it started as an inside joke. Hosted by longtime friends Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike "The Fantasy Hitman" Wright, the show launched in September 2014 and has grown into a year-round media operation: millions of downloads a week during NFL season, a top-ten FantasyPros accuracy pedigree, a merch empire, sold-out live tours, and a die-hard fan community called the #FootClan. Their tagline says it plainly: "The ONE Fantasy Football Podcast you can't leave off your roster."
The origin story is almost too perfect. All three worked at a video-game company in Arizona — making Facebook and iOS games, with Moore as Wright's boss — and the center of their universe was a ruthlessly competitive keeper league that started around 2007 or 2008. Wright joined when it expanded in 2010. The league was already legendary inside the office: live drafts with a friend dressed as Roger Goodell reading picks, team tables draped in banners, custom mini-helmets with team logos. At lunch once a week, Holloway and Wright started recording a private podcast just to talk about their own league — grading trades, mocking bad decisions, spending 45 minutes talking trash about the rest of the league. Holloway and Wright even had a championship rivalry, meeting in the final three years running (Wright is quick to note he won two of three).
They decided to try a public version of the show in 2014 — launching, smartly, in February, the least popular time for football in America, so they could build chemistry and work out technical kinks before the season. "We were awful," Wright later admitted of the early public episodes. Then their game company began to fail. After the 2014 Super Bowl, the podcast became a side hustle: recording at 10 or 11 at night after full-time jobs, mortgages, and kids. The fantasy football industry itself was exploding at the same time, and the NFL's year-round calendar — Combine, free agency, draft, camp — meant there was always something to talk about. Right place, right time, three genuinely funny friends: the show took off, everyone quit their jobs, and the Ballers went full-time.
What they built is a machine. The show runs continuously with two episodes a week in the deep offseason, three through the summer, and five a week during the season (1,668 episodes as of November 2024). The bread and butter is start/sit advice, rankings, waiver-wire adds, dynasty strategy, and draft prep — delivered with the chemistry of real friends who've been arguing about football for nearly two decades. In 2018, both Holloway and Moore finished in FantasyPros' top 10 most accurate fantasy experts, with staff writer Robert Waziak ranked second overall; that same year the podcast topped 100 million downloads. Awards followed: Best Sports Podcast at the 2019 iHeartRadio Podcast Awards and four consecutive People's Choice wins at the Podcast Awards (2016–19).
The #FootClan is the show's lifeblood. The trio — three Arizona dads recording out of a nondescript Deer Valley office park — turned their listeners into a movement: tens of thousands of community members, five-city live podcast tours ("The People's Fantasy Tour," 2018 and 2019), and a merch store that's practically a lifestyle brand. They appear regularly on sports television, talk picks with Rich Eisen on NFL Network, have been quoted by the New York Times, and even got a shout-out from Hollywood star Michael Keaton. Most recently, iHeartMedia and the NFL signed them to an exclusive multi-year deal bringing "The Fantasy Footballers Dynasty Show" — their dynasty-format spinoff covering rookie scouting, NFL draft coverage, and dynasty draft advice — to the NFL Podcast Network. The indie show is now officially part of the league's own media empire.
Their business instincts are as sharp as their rankings. Holloway has said the best decisions they've ever made were the "no"s — turning down deals that would have compromised the show — and that selectivity kept them independent while competitors got absorbed. They were early to video (a YouTube channel with hundreds of thousands of subscribers and nearly 100 million views), early to community commerce, early to the idea that a fantasy show should be entertainment first and advice second. Awful Announcing's deep-dive profile found the operation surprisingly substantial behind the suburban office door: a real studio, real staff, real revenue, built on three guys who thought they were late to podcasting in 2014.
Previously covers The Fantasy Footballers because they won fantasy football's biggest prize — the audience — without selling out to get it. Every fall, millions of managers set their lineups with these three in their ears: the Arizona dads who turned a lunch-break joke into the definitive voice of the fantasy season. Join the FootClan. The Fantasy Footballers — Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright — are fantasy football's most trusted voices. The trio's daily podcast turned redraft advice into appointment listening.
The chemistry is the show. Andy's analysis, Jason's takes, Mike's spreadsheets — the dynamic that makes two hours of rankings feel like hanging with friends. The Ballers are family.
The accuracy is the reputation. Year after year, the rankings deliver — the hits, the avoids, the calls that won leagues. The track record is the brand.
The daily grind is the commitment. Every weekday of the season — the news reactions, the waiver wires, the start-sits. The fantasy week runs through the Ballers.
The Ultimate Draft Kit is the empire. The premium product — the rankings, the tools, the draft-day bible. The business built on trust.
The live events are the communion. Draft parties, the live shows, the Foot Clan in person — the community that formed in earbuds, together in rooms.
The Foot Clan is the nation. The listeners, the inside jokes, the shared suffering of bad beats — fantasy football's biggest family.
Previously covers The Fantasy Footballers because the championship runs through them. The draft board's set — trust the Ballers.
The DFS and betting coverage expanded the game. The new formats, the same expertise — the Ballers follow the money. The advice evolves; the trust doesn't.
The legacy is the leagues won. The championships credited to Ballers advice — the trophies, the bragging rights, the group chats silenced. The proof is in the playoffs.
The in-season adjustments are the expertise. The trade analyzers, the panic meter, the weekly pivots — the Ballers navigate the chaos in real time. The fantasy season is long; the advice is longer.
The dynasty and keeper coverage is the deep end. The long game, the rookie drafts, the multi-year strategy — the Ballers play chess while others play checkers. The empire expands.
