A 79 average from 503 ratings. Does what it sets out to do, no more and no less. An adventure game leaning hard into fantasy, educational — more about the journey than the destination. No multiplayer, no problem — the campaign carries the whole thing.

About this game

Abzu is an exploration game where you are a lone diver in a lush ocean world. The diver descends deeper and deeper into the depths, where she will encounter majestic creatures, discover ancient secrets, and search for her true purpose. Abzu roughly translates to "The Ocean of Wisdom" from ancient Sumerian.

A lone diver awakens at the surface of a vast ocean and begins descending through its waters, moving between open sea, natural caverns, and submerged ruins. Ancient murals reveal that a long-vanished civilization once lived in balance with this ocean. Guided by a great white shark, the diver reaches wells that restore life to the seas, while robotic devices harvest the ocean's energy and threaten the fragile balance that remains. The story is told wordlessly, drawing on themes from ancient mythology.
