In the aftermath of the previous conflict, Captain Price and his ally Nikolai spirit a gravely wounded Soap MacTavish to safety while being hunted by the forces of the terrorist Vladimir Makarov. They are joined by Yuri, Nikolai's most trusted soldier, who carries his own grudge against Makarov. Meanwhile, an escalating Third World War rages between Russia and the United States. On the other side of the globe, the soldiers of Delta Force's Team Metal, including Frost and their commander Sandman, battle to turn back the Russian invasion of the American East Coast. As Makarov's campaign of terror threatens to engulf Europe, these separate fronts converge in a desperate effort to stop him.
