About this game

Dark Souls: Collector's Edition is a special release of the original Dark Souls game, developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Released in October 2011, this edition includes several exclusive items designed to enhance the overall experience for fans of the game. The Collector's Edition includes the full base game, packaged in a special edition box with unique artwork. It also comes with a high-quality physical art book featuring concept art, character designs, and illustrations from the game. Additionally, it provides access to behind-the-scenes content, including developer interviews and making-of videos, giving players insight into the game's creation process. The edition features Motoi Sakuraba's official game soundtrack, allowing players to enjoy the atmospheric music outside of the game. A mini-strategy guide is also included to help players navigate the game's challenging world and mechanics.

Dark Souls employs minimalist storytelling to convey its plot and lore. Historical events in its world and their significance are often implicit or left to player interpretation rather than being fully shown or explained. Most of the story is given to the player through dialogue from non-player characters within the game, flavor text from items, and world design.
