That 69 average hides a game its 173 fans would defend to the death. Horror that commits, from Capcom — science fiction atmosphere, real dread, and scares that aren't cheap. Solo only, and better for it — this is a one-player experience through and through. A 1999 original that still holds up — they don't make them like this anymore, literally.
About this game
Dino Crisis is a survival horror video game developed and published by Capcom in 1999. Set in a remote research facility, it follows special agent Regina as she investigates a scientific experiment gone wrong. The game combines exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat against hostile dinosaurs. It uses a real-time 3D environment rather than pre-rendered backgrounds, distinguishing it from earlier Capcom horror titles. Dino Crisis is often noted for its emphasis on tension, limited resources, and fast, unpredictable enemies.
A special commando unit is sent to a remote island, where a mad scientist, Doctor Kirk, has been researching a way to harvest energy directly from the air, causing an unimaginable disaster. Their goal is to locate a missing government agent sent to infiltrate the facility and spy on Kirk and his secretive dealings with the military. The team is led by Gail, a tough military type, but the player takes the role of his second in command, a capable redhead female commando named Regina. The team must find a way to survive in a secret government facility that is being infested by time-displaced dinosaurs, and return Doctor Kirk to custody.
