The Jordan 14 “Forest Green” Is Back Saturday — First Retro Ever

Twenty-one years after the original, the white-and-green Air Jordan 14 returns Saturday, October 31 for $215 — and for the first time ever, kids get a run at it too.

The Short Version

Some retros come back every few years. This one never came back at all.

The Air Jordan 14 “Forest Green” releases Saturday, October 31 — Halloween — for $215 in adult sizing through Nike SNKRS and select Jordan Brand retailers. It is the first retro in the colorway’s history: the shoe debuted in 2005, in the middle of Jordan Brand’s lifestyle era, and then simply never returned. Twenty-one years later, style code 487471-300 finally gets its second run.

The shoe itself is an exercise in restraint. White leather runs the length of the upper, stitched into the 14’s signature perforated panels — a silhouette modeled on Michael Jordan’s Ferrari 550 Maranello, all low lines and sports-car vents. The green does the talking in exactly three places: the midsole “teeth,” the heel, and the tongue, with Light Graphite on the tongue and a carbon-fiber shank plate underfoot. The Jumpman sits inside the model’s shield badge at the ankle, and the heel carries the oversized 23. It is the same two-tone formula as the “Candy Cane” 14 — with deep forest green standing where the red usually goes.

That restraint is precisely why the original built a cult. The Forest Green was never the loudest 14, and it never got the reissue cycle that kept its siblings in rotation — by the accounts tracking it, the 2005 original is nearly extinct on resale, with Athlon reporting a last StockX sale of $732 and no pairs currently listed. A whole generation of collectors has known this shoe mostly from photographs.

Saturday’s drop carries one more first inside the first: grade school sizing. The colorway has never been offered to kids before; this run adds GS pairs at $155 (adult $215). It is also a general release, not a limited one — SNKRS plus the usual Jordan retail doors, including Foot Locker — which makes retail the realistic play for a shoe whose original now changes hands, when it changes hands at all, at three times the price.

The timing is the tidy part. October’s Jordan calendar has been stacked all month, but the Forest Green is the only drop on it closing a two-decade absence — a Halloween Saturday release for the last unretroed classic of the 2005 class.

Previously’s Take: Every retro program eventually reaches the shoes it skipped. The Forest Green sat skipped for 21 years — not because it failed, but because Jordan Brand kept reissuing the hits. Saturday settles the argument the simple way: put the cleanest two-tone 14 ever made back on shelves at $215, in adult and kids’ sizes, and let the people who waited two decades finally just buy it.
