Godlike Esports Drops 78 Points to Storm Into the BMSD 2026 Semifinals Lead

Day 2 in Hyderabad belonged to one squad: 78 points across six matches, top of the table at 102, and the comeback from 10th place is officially on.

The Short Version

One day ago, Godlike Esports sat 10th in the BGMI Masters Series semifinals with a forgettable 24 points and nobody talking about them. Then Day 2 happened. Seventy-eight points across six matches — nearly quadrupling their total — and suddenly they're on top of the whole tournament at 102. That's not a good day. That's a statement.

01 First, What Is BMSD?

Fair question if you're not deep in Indian esports. BMSD — the BGMI Masters Series — is the premier professional circuit for Battlegrounds Mobile India, the India-specific version of PUBG Mobile that Krafton runs as the country's biggest mobile esports title. And "biggest" isn't hype: India's mobile-first gaming audience makes BGMI events some of the most-watched esports on the planet, with tens of millions tuning in and the top teams functioning as genuine celebrity brands. Godlike Esports is arguably the most famous of them all — the fan-favorites whose every match trends.

The format: 24 teams split into three groups of eight, playing a round-robin across four days (October 8–11) in Hyderabad. Twenty-four matches total, with each team competing in 16. The top eight in the overall standings qualify directly for the Grand Finals on October 16–18. Teams finishing 9th through 24th drop into a Last Chance stage on October 12–13, where only four more survive. The prize beyond the trophy: a spot at the PMGC 2026 Gauntlet Stage — the global PUBG Mobile championship's qualifying door. Everything streams on the Krafton India Esports YouTube channel with Hindi and English casts.

02 The 78-Point Day

Day 2's slate was Groups A versus C, six matches: one on Rondo, three on Erangel, two on Miramar. And it was basically the Godlike show. After a Day 1 where they managed just 24 points and Team Apex Gaming ran the table to 66, the favorites flipped the script completely — 78 points on the day, top of the leaderboard, and a gap opening over everyone chasing.

TalkEsport's coverage notes that Godlike and Apex have now "almost confirmed Grand Finals spots" with two days left — they just need to avoid a collapse. Behind them: Vasista Esports at 79, Nebula Esports at 73, K9 Esports at 71, Genesis Esports at 67, Team Outrage at 58, and Myth Official holding the all-important eighth spot at 56. Then the logjam — Welt at 54, Hyper-Catz at 53, Tamilas at 49, Cultrex and 4TR tied at 47, Wyld Fangs at 46 — which is where the real fight is.

03 The Two Storylines Worth Watching

The Godlike comeback. Tenth place after Day 1. First after Day 2. In a game where placement points and finish points reward exactly the kind of consistent, high-kill lobbies Godlike put together, one monster day erased a bad one. The squad's fanbase — one of the loudest in esports anywhere — will tell you this is who they've been all along. The numbers are starting to agree.

The Apex miracle continuing. Don't sleep on the team in second. Team Apex Gaming qualified for these semifinals eighth in the Upper Bracket Survival — by a single point, 111 to Vijay Esports' 110. They were one placement away from the Lower Bracket. Then they led the semifinals after Day 1 with 66 points and followed it up with a steady Day 2 to hold second at 94. A team that nearly missed the tournament is now eight points off the lead with half the matches played. That's the better story, honestly.

04 The Logjam From 8th to 14th

The standings are a two-horse race at the top and a knife fight everywhere else. Myth Official sits in the final direct-qualification spot at 56, with Welt (54), Hyper-Catz (53), Tamilas (49), Cultrex (47), 4TR (47), and Wyld Fangs (46) all within a single good match of stealing it. Twelve matches remain — Days 3 and 4 — which means every one of those teams will get six more chances to make their case.

At the other end, it's getting grim: Team Soul — another giant name in Indian esports — sits 17th at 35, and Elite Nova Esports props up the table at 12. The Last Chance stage is calling, and only four teams survive it. The margin for error is officially gone.

05 What's Next

Days 3 and 4 of the semifinals run through October 11, twelve more matches to sort the field. Then the Last Chance stage on October 12–13 decides the final four Grand Finals slots, and the Grand Finals themselves run October 16–18 back in Hyderabad — with that PMGC 2026 Gauntlet Stage berth hanging over all of it.

Godlike looks like a team that figured something out overnight, Apex looks like a team of destiny, and everyone from 8th to 14th is playing for their tournament lives. This is the part of a battle royale tournament where every rotation matters and every third-party fight swings thousands of fans' weekends. Watch it live if you can — this is Indian esports at its absolute peak.
