Comeback stories in music are often told too quickly, as if the hard part were a montage. Daytime TV's new chapter deserves to be told at its real pace. The British alt-rock quartet have announced a new album, Rodeo, due February 19, 2027 via Marshall Records, and shared a new single, 'Meditate,' which is out now. The Moshville Times reported the announcement in full, and Marshall Records, the band's label, confirmed the release in its own announcement — two sources aligned on the essentials: title, date, label, producer, and a band returning to full speed after a year that could have ended the story.

That year is central to understanding Rodeo. According to The Moshville Times, frontman Will Irvine spent much of 2024 battling Still's disease, a rare autoimmune illness. Serious illness in a working band is not only a medical crisis; it is cancelled momentum, vanished income, and the quiet fear that the audience will have moved on by the time you can stand on a stage again. A new album announcement, a new single and a grassroots tour, all arriving together, amount to a public answer to that fear. The band — Irvine alongside John Caddick, Naomi Boschetti and Gareth Thompson — are not easing back in. They are announcing a date in 2027 and playing rooms this month.

Made at Marshall Studio

Rodeo was produced by Pete Hutchings, whose credits include work with Royal Blood and Foals, and recorded at Marshall Studio in Milton Keynes, according to Marshall Records' announcement and The Moshville Times' report. Those details signal intent. Hutchings works with bands who want power and precision at the same time — riffs that hit hard without blurring — and Marshall Studio places the record inside a name that is woven into British rock history. For an alt-rock quartet making the album that restarts their trajectory, that combination of producer and place reads as a statement about scale: this is not a stopgap release to stay visible. It is the main event, made properly.

'Meditate,' the single out now, is therefore more than a teaser. A first single after a disrupted period has to do several jobs at once: reassure existing fans that the band sounds like themselves, give new listeners an entry point, and give radio and playlists something undeniable to hold until February. Its title, at least, hints at the headspace behind the record — a word about stillness and recovery attached to a band whose music lives at volume. The Moshville Times highlighted the single as the immediate way in, and with the album still months away, it will carry the campaign through the autumn almost single-handedly.

Grassroots rooms, this October

Before the album arrives, Daytime TV are doing the most British thing a returning band can do: a grassroots tour, run with Music Venue Trust, this October. The dates, as listed by The Moshville Times and the Marshall Records announcement, are October 14 at Hull's New Adelphi Club, October 15 in Coventry, October 16 in Newport, October 17 in Milton Keynes, and October 18 in Bournemouth. Small rooms, close crowds, no barrier between a band testing new material and the people who kept faith with them. Music Venue Trust's involvement underlines the point of the run — these venues are where British guitar music is actually built, and playing them is both a tour and a thank-you.

There is a practical wisdom to the sequencing, too. October grassroots shows let the band rebuild match fitness in front of sympathetic audiences, road-test songs from Rodeo while there is still time to learn from the reaction, and generate the word of mouth that no announcement can buy. By the time Rodeo lands on February 19, 2027, the songs will not be strangers to the stage, and the story told about the album will include rooms in Hull and Newport where it first came alive — a much better story than a countdown clock.

Marshall Records releasing the album completes a neat circle: a record made at Marshall Studio in Milton Keynes, issued by Marshall Records, preceded by a hometown-adjacent date in Milton Keynes on October 17. British rock runs on these local loyalties, and Daytime TV's rollout honors them at every step, from producer Pete Hutchings to the grassroots circuit.

'Meditate' is out now, Rodeo follows on February 19, 2027, and the October dates begin in Hull on the 14th. After the year Will Irvine and this band have had, an album called Rodeo — hold on, stay on, finish the ride — feels exactly right.

For fans who found the band before 2024, the announcement closes a long and worried silence with the best possible news: not a farewell, not a side project, but a full album, a working single and a run of dates you can actually attend this week. For everyone else, Rodeo now has a date, a sound to sample and a story worth rooting for — and February is closer than it looks.
