You can hear Grand Theft Auto VI today. Not watch it. Not speculate about it. Hear it.

Rockstar Games has confirmed that Justice produced the original score for Grand Theft Auto VI. The first track is already out: “Pusher,” by Justice with Gesaffelstein, released today, October 29, and streaming now. The full original score album follows on December 11, with 30 tracks by Justice.

That distinction — score — is the whole story, so keep it straight. This is not a playlist of licensed songs. This is not the music licensed for the game from other artists’ catalogues. A score is original music, composed for this game. Justice wrote this material for GTA VI, and “Pusher” is the first piece of it the public gets to hear.

That matters because most GTA VI news asks you to imagine the game. A screenshot asks you to imagine playing it. A rumour asks you to imagine whether it is even true. “Pusher” asks for none of that. It is a finished piece of the game, released on its own, playable today, months before the rest of the package arrives. You do not have to take anyone’s word for what GTA VI feels like. Part of its sound is sitting on streaming right now, and you can judge it in full, start to finish.

It also matters who made it. Rockstar did not hand the score to a hired hand and move on. It confirmed Justice — a name-brand act with its own audience, its own sound and its own following — as the producer of the game’s original score. That cuts both ways, and both ways are good for the reader. Games readers get a score built by an act they may already follow. Music readers get a new Justice release that happens to carry one of the biggest game titles in the world on its cover. One story, two audiences, and a track both of them can press play on today.

The calendar tells the rest. “Pusher” is out today, October 29. The game itself releases November 19. The full score album — all 30 tracks — lands December 11. So the order of arrival is unusual, and worth noticing: a piece of the score first, the game second, the complete score last. By the time the album lands, listeners will be able to hear Justice’s work two ways — inside the game they are playing, and as a standalone record built from that same work.

Until then, there is one track, and it is not a teaser in the usual sense. A teaser is a fragment cut to make you wait. “Pusher” is a full track from a confirmed 30-track score, credited to Justice with Gesaffelstein, released on a confirmed date, ahead of a confirmed album. Nothing about it needs decoding.

The Games Desk’s read: So start there. Play “Pusher” today. Mark December 11 for the full 30 tracks. And when the game arrives, listen for the score underneath it — because now you know whose work it is, and you have already heard how it begins.

More from the games desk lives on the Games front and in Previously’s music coverage.
