Sunday morning in Week 6 is when fantasy lineups, betting slips and actual game plans all collide with the same question: who is really playing? This week's answers brought one late scare in Indianapolis, a double dose of relief at MetLife Stadium, and a Monday night problem in Washington. Here is where things stand, based on Fantasy Index's Sunday morning updates and reporting from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport via Giants Wire.

The Late Scare: Tyler Warren

The most unwelcome news of the morning belongs to the Indianapolis Colts. Tight end Tyler Warren — listed as "Ty Warren" in Fantasy Index's update — was added to the injury report with a groin injury suffered in practice, according to Fantasy Index. The detail that makes this one sting: Warren was not on Friday's official injury report at all. Late-week additions are the ones coaching staffs and fantasy managers dread most, because there is no practice week left to evaluate them. Warren is listed as questionable and is a genuine game-time decision, per Fantasy Index. Until the Colts announce their inactives, his status is a coin nobody in Indianapolis wants to flip.

Giants Get Their Cornerstones Back

The news is considerably better for the New York Giants ahead of Sunday's home game against the New Orleans Saints at MetLife Stadium. Left tackle Andrew Thomas (groin) and linebacker Abdul Carter (calf) are both expected to play despite carrying questionable tags, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, as reported by Giants Wire.

Thomas's case comes with a reassuring track record: he has managed this groin issue since Week 2 without missing a snap, according to Giants Wire. The questionable tag has simply been his weekly routine. Carter's availability matters for a different reason. The young linebacker has 2.0 sacks and ranks among the league leaders in quarterback pressures, according to Giants Wire, and a Giants pass rush without him is a fundamentally different proposition for any opposing quarterback.

Not every Giant got the green light, though. Right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor (calf) remains a game-time decision, per the same reporting. And the Giants have already ruled out three players: cornerback Colton Hood (concussion), safety Tyler Nubin (neck) and tight end Theo Johnson (neck), according to Giants Wire. The secondary, in particular, will be thin — Hood and Nubin both being out is the kind of detail that opposing offensive coordinators notice quickly.

Saints Stars Expected to Go

Across the sideline, New Orleans got the answers it wanted, too. Running back Alvin Kamara (back) and wide receiver Chris Olave (illness) are both expected to play, according to Rapoport via Giants Wire. For a Saints team arriving at MetLife at 1-4 against a 3-1-1 Giants side, having its two most important skill players available was close to a prerequisite for a credible upset bid. Kamara's back and Olave's illness will presumably be monitored through warmups, but the expectation on Sunday morning was clear: both are going.

Washington Loses Its Monday Night Back

The weekend's one definitive ruling involves Monday night. Washington has ruled out running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt with a groin injury for Monday night's game against San Francisco, according to Fantasy Index. That leaves Rachaad White and Austin Ekeler as Washington's available backs for the matchup — a committee with plenty of pass-catching pedigree, but a reshaped ground plan on the biggest stage of the week, with an extra day of preparation spent adjusting rather than polishing.

One Rumor, Clearly Labeled

Finally, a word of caution on the morning's most speculative item. Fantasy Index noted talk that Giants running back Cam Skattebo might be demoted after last week's costly fumble, with Najee Harris possibly starting instead. That is unconfirmed talk — speculation passed along by Fantasy Index, not a reported decision by the Giants — and it should be treated exactly that way until the team says otherwise. Fumble-driven demotions make for irresistible Sunday-morning chatter, but chatter is all this is at the moment.

Context matters for the MetLife game in particular. The Giants come in at 3-1-1, the Saints at 1-4, and both teams' Sunday-morning news pointed the same direction: the stars are playing. Thomas protecting the blind side and Carter hunting quarterbacks are the two pillars of how New York wants to play, while Kamara and Olave are the two players New Orleans' offense runs through. The Giants' ruled-out trio — Hood, Nubin and Theo Johnson — still leaves real holes in the secondary and at tight end, but the expected returns outweigh the absences on both sidelines. That is about as clean a bill of health as a Week 6 Sunday morning usually delivers.

The picture will sharpen when inactive lists drop before kickoff. Until then: Warren is the headline question mark, Thomas and Carter are the headline relief, Kamara and Olave are expected in, and Croskey-Merritt is definitively out.
