An EP is supposed to be a snack between albums. Zach Bryan just used one to run the table.
Young Manhood and Other Donatable Organs — eight songs, released October 16 via Belting Bronco and Warner Records — debuts at No. 1 on three Billboard album charts at once: Top Country Albums, Top Rock Albums and Americana/Folk Albums. It also tops the Canadian Albums chart and enters the Billboard 200 at No. 2, behind only Olivia Rodrigo's returning No. 1, with 65,500 equivalent album units in its first week, per Luminate data reported by Billboard for the week ending October 22. Nearly all of it was streaming: 59,500 of those units came from 60.46 million on-demand streams, because the CD and vinyl editions aren't even out until December.
The sweep
This is Bryan's fifth set to top the country, rock and Americana/folk tallies, following January's With Heaven on Top, 2024's The Great American Bar Scene, his 2023 self-titled album and 2022's American Heartbreak. The Canadian No. 1 is its own kind of receipt: it is his second Canadian chart-topping debut in a single calendar year, after With Heaven on Top did it in January — a feat Warner Records' release calls exceptionally rare, and the chart record backs the label up.
And then there is the song chart. Every one of the EP's eight tracks debuts on the Billboard Hot 100 this week — the full set, no skips: "Lies" at No. 4, "Lodi When" at No. 22, "Robot Killed the Working Man" at No. 35, "Plainsman" at No. 45, "Backwards" at No. 50 and "You'll Get By" at No. 51, with "Dog Days" and "Is the Blue Tangled in You?" completing the eight. All eight also debut on Hot Country Songs and Hot Rock Songs. During the tracking week Bryan drew 151.3 million official streams in the U.S. — fourth among all artists, behind only Drake, Morgan Wallen and Taylor Swift.
The duet on top
The lead track did the loudest work. "Lies," Bryan's duet with Lana Del Rey, enters the Hot 100 at No. 4 on 19.6 million streams — Bryan's fourth top 10 on the chart and Del Rey's third, tying her career best. It also debuts at No. 1 on Hot Rock Songs and No. 2 on Hot Country Songs. On release day, all eight EP songs entered Spotify's U.S. Top 50, with "Lies" peaking at No. 2 there and No. 10 on Spotify's global chart.
The other collaboration carries its own history: "Plainsman," Bryan's team-up with fellow Oklahomans Turnpike Troubadours, debuts at No. 45 — noted here as a chart fact of this EP, on a track Bryan wrote, on Bryan's project.
And the tour is already gone
The live picture is moving just as fast. Bryan's recently announced 2027 stadium tour behind the EP — The YM&ODO Tour — has already sold out, prompting him to add a handful of new dates, per Warner Records. It follows a 2026 run in which he headlined stadiums across the U.S., Canada, the UK and Europe on the sold-out With Heaven On Tour.
The take
Plenty of stars can top a genre chart with a side project. Almost none can put an eight-song EP at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with no physical edition in stores, land every track on the Hot 100 at once, and sell out the stadium tour behind it in the same breath — nine months after a 25-song album whose every song also charted. That's not a hot streak anymore. That's the floor Bryan now releases from, and December's CD and vinyl drop gives this EP a second chart life to prove it.
