Barcelona beat Aston Villa 3–0 at Spotify Camp Nou in the UEFA Champions League league phase, Matchday 4, on Tuesday 3 November 2026 — a night that belonged to a record-breaker and a captain. Villa arrived with a perfect start and had not trailed at any point in the competition. Both of those things ended here.

The opener came at seven minutes. João Gomes played a wayward pass across his own area, Lamine Yamal cut it out, shifted the ball past Pau Torres and found the far corner. That goal was Yamal's 14th in the Champions League — the most by a teenager in the competition's history, passing the 13 Kylian Mbappé held. Yamal did it on his 37th Champions League appearance. Villa stayed in the game to half time, but the second half settled it quickly. At 52 minutes Fermín López played Raphinha forward and his deflected strike beat Zion Suzuki. Twelve minutes later João Cancelo drove in from the left and crossed with the outside of his boot into the six-yard box, and Raphinha turned it home for his second. Flashscore named Raphinha its man of the match.
