Cyberpunk 2077's Update 2.5 — the Edgerunners 2 update — shipped on October 22 with full patch notes: a new dual-wielding playstyle, fresh quests, new ways to customize V. What the notes never mentioned was The Witcher. Within a day, players had found what CD Projekt Red left out of the announcement — a complete set of Witcher gear sitting in a crate in V's apartment, free for anyone who knows where to look.
The discovery is credited to player @vinalxo and was spread by @SynthPotato on X, then confirmed in reporting by IGN and Insider Gaming on October 23. The set: the Sihil sword, the Boar Carver knife, the Professor Spectacles, the Ursine Jacket, the Ursine Pants and a Witcher t-shirt. Every piece is a direct lift from The Witcher 3, hidden inside a patch that was publicly framed as an Edgerunners update.
The Sihil is the headliner. In the game it is a Tier 5+ Iconic sword — 133 damage per hit, with +25% armor penetration and a +20% bleeding chance on its item card — modelled on the dwarven sihils of the Witcher world, with ancient writing down the blade and sharp rivets along the edge. The Ursine jacket and pants rework the Bear School armor Geralt wears in The Witcher 3. The Professor Spectacles are the distinctive glasses from the auction in Hearts of Stone's Open Sesame! quest, and the Boar Carver is the small knife Geralt uses to take trophies from defeated monsters.
Claiming the set takes about a day of in-game time and no combat at all. After the update, a new contact named Ariadne messages V about a boutique label looking for a brand ambassador. Reply positively and play along — guides warn that blowing her off ends the thread — then skip time forward 24 hours. Ariadne confirms a gift has been delivered, and the crate is waiting by the entrance of V's apartment in Megabuilding H10, in Little China, Watson. Open it, and the full Witcher set is yours.
CD Projekt Red has crossed its two flagship worlds before — Geralt's Gwynbleidd sword and a Wild Hunt jacket were previously claimable by linking a CD Projekt Red account that owns The Witcher 3. This time the gear is simply in the game for every player: no account link, no quest chain, no announcement. In an update sold on an anime spinoff, the studio's other flagship got the stealth drop.
That is why the find landed the way it did. Cyberpunk 2077 is a six-year-old game whose developer keeps insisting it is finished, and it just received secret content from the biggest fantasy franchise in the same building — content players are still cataloguing. The sword is real, the list is verified, and the crate is sitting in Watson tonight.
