Rockstar Reveals GTA VI’s Radio Stations — Bad Bunny, Black Sabbath, and Screenshots So Good Fans Don’t Believe They’re Real

Rockstar officially revealed Grand Theft Auto VI’s first six radio stations — from Bad Bunny’s Latin party station to a metal channel with Black Sabbath and Slayer — plus new Vice City screenshots so sharp fans argued overnight about whether they were real. November 19 is 41 days away.

Rockstar Games finally turned up the volume on Grand Theft Auto VI. On October 8, the studio officially revealed the first details of the game’s in-game radio stations — six channels spanning Latin party music, renegade country, African sounds, metal, pop and southern hip-hop, with Bad Bunny, Black Sabbath, Charli xcx and dozens more on the track lists. And because this is Rockstar, the reveal came with new screenshots of Vice City and Leonida so sharp that fans spent the night arguing about whether they were even real.

02 Six Stations, Zero Skips

The six stations, as detailed by ComicBook from Rockstar’s official materials, are: Cocoteo FM, the Latin station hosted by El Martillo and La Gata — “el party que nunca se apaga,” the party that never goes out, in Rockstar’s official description; Back Country Radio, renegade country with hosts MW and Delta Dawne; AfroBank FM, African music hosted by Burna and Palmsy; The Chamber 106.6, metal with DJs Kerry and Tom; Flash FM, pop hosted by Robyn and Alex; and Dirty South Classics, southern hip-hop with Trick Daddy and Trina on the mic.

The named artists read like a festival lineup built by someone with encyclopedic taste and no budget limit. Bad Bunny anchors the Latin side. Black Sabbath, Pantera and Slayer hold down the metal channel. Charli xcx and MGMT represent pop’s weirder edges. David Allan Coe, Loretta Lynn and Hank Williams Jr. give Back Country its outlaw credentials. DJ Khaled and Asake round out a list that spans continents and generations.

The detail that has players most excited might be the smallest: you can listen to stations on foot, through the in-game phone — not just behind the wheel. For a series where the radio has always been a character in itself, untethering it from the car changes how the whole world sounds. Jason and Lucia’s Vice City is going to have a soundtrack everywhere.

The curation is the message. Cocoteo FM’s Latin party energy, Back Country’s outlaw country, AfroBank’s continental African sounds — this is a Vice City that reflects a Florida as diverse as the real one, not the caricature of the 2002 original. The Chamber 106.6 gives metalheads Black Sabbath, Pantera and Slayer in one place, a heavier commitment than the series has ever made to the genre. And Dirty South Classics, with Trick Daddy and Trina hosting, roots the game in Miami’s actual hip-hop history rather than a generic playlist. Rockstar has always used radio to build place; Leonida’s dial suggests the most specific sense of place yet.

03 “Ain’t No Way That’s Real”

Then there are the screenshots. Rockstar shared new environment shots of Vice City and Leonida, and one — a rainy night street scene with the Ocean View Hotel’s reflections smeared across wet asphalt — broke the community’s brain overnight. “Ain’t no way that first screenshot is real; it looks so good,” one fan posted, in a comment Kotaku highlighted in its October 8 coverage of the debate.

The authenticity argument is a familiar ritual for Rockstar releases, but this round had a notable referee. Oliver Mackenzie of Digital Foundry, the outlet that forensically analyzes game visuals for a living, weighed in with a technical read that cut through the noise. “It’s not perfect though,” Mackenzie said, as quoted by Kotaku. “The reflections in the mid-field on a kind of semi-gloss road and sidewalk surface are pretty messy looking and seem indicative of something close to console settings.” Translation: the imperfections are the proof — the shot looks like actual PS5 Pro gameplay, not a doctored render.

Kotaku noted the precedent matters here. Rockstar has a history of using genuine in-engine shots in its marketing — the GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 campaigns held up under the same scrutiny. If the rainy Vice City street is real, and Digital Foundry thinks it is, then what players saw overnight is what they’ll actually be driving through on November 19.

04 The Leak, the Noise, and the Countdown

Forty-one days is both forever and no time at all. Rockstar’s marketing machine is famously disciplined — information arrives on its schedule, in its chosen form — and the October 8 radio reveal follows the pattern: a concrete, verifiable drop (stations, hosts, artists) paired with visual teases (the screenshots) designed to sustain conversation. It worked. The overnight debate wasn’t about whether the stations are good; it was about whether a screenshot was real. That’s the kind of problem every other publisher wishes it had.

One note of caution for the hype cycle: the same day as Rockstar’s official reveal, an unconfirmed leak — dubbed the “Cyberleek,” a 25-minute gameplay video — surfaced online, as reported by Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson. Its contents are unverified and leaker-sourced, and it should be treated as reported-but-unconfirmed, clearly separated from the official materials above. Previously is not presenting the leak’s claims as fact.

The distinction matters because the next 41 days will be full of both. Rockstar’s official channel — radio reveals, screenshots, the Rob Nelson interview we covered this week — is the verified record. Everything else is noise until proven otherwise, and the noise is only going to get louder as November 19 approaches.

What’s confirmed is plenty. Six radio stations with real hosts and real track lists. Phone-on-foot listening. Screenshots that survived Digital Foundry’s microscope. A Vice City that looks, in the rain, like somewhere you’ve actually been. Forty-one days — and the volume’s already up.
