THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2026 — Rockstar Games updated the official GTA VI website today with a brand-new music section, and it is the first time the studio has officially pulled back the curtain on the game's in-game radio. Six stations, real previews you can listen to right now, and a host roster that reads like a festival lineup: Bad Bunny, Morgan Wallen, Burna Boy, Slayer's Kerry King and Tom Araya, Trick Daddy, Trina, and Robyn. Oh, and for the first time in GTA history, on-demand podcasts.
If you know GTA, you know the radio is not a side feature. It's how these games build their worlds. Vice City's V-Rock and Emotion 98.3, San Andreas' Radio Los Santos, the unhinged talk radio that roasted everything between songs — the soundtrack of a GTA game is half the memory of it. Rockstar is calling this "the biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio yet," and today we finally get to hear what that means.

The six stations (first wave)
Keep in mind this is a first look, not the full dial — Rockstar has not said these six are all we'll get. But what a six:
Cocoteo FM is Leonida's home for modern Latin music, hosted by El Martillo and La Gata — the in-universe personas of Bad Bunny and RaiNao. Bachata, merengue, dembow, reggaeton. The tagline: el party que nunca se apaga. Previewed tracks include Bad Bunny's own EoO, the Axel Rulay / Farruko / El Alfa remix of Si Es Trucho Es Trucho, and Romeo Santos & El Chaval de la Bachata's Canalla. Bad Bunny in a game set in a Florida stand-in makes almost too much sense.
Back Country Radio brings renegade country to the Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, and beyond, hosted by MW and Delta Dawne — Morgan Wallen, Lana Del Rey, and Jeremy Dufrene voicing the crew, plus a roving reporter, a swamp meteorologist, and Delta's not-so-secret lover Mud Dog Mike broadcasting from an airboat. Previewed: David Allan Coe's Need a Little Time Off for Bad Behavior, Loretta Lynn's Don't Come Home A-Drinkin' (With Lovin' On Your Mind), and Hank Williams Jr. & Waylon Jennings' The Conversation. A swamp meteorologist is the most GTA sentence ever written.
AfroBank FM turns up the gbedu with Burna and Palmsy — Burna Boy and Palms Trax curating African music from 20th-century classics and undiscovered gems to amapiano and 3-step. Previewed: Asake's Joha, Pat Thomas ft. Ebo Taylor's Gye Wani, and DJ Lag & Robot Boii ft. Kamo Mphela's Shay'sana.
The Chamber 106.6 is crushing metal from the '80s and beyond, hosted by DJ Kerry and DJ Tom — Kerry King and Tom Araya of Slayer. Previewed: Black Sabbath's I (the 1992 Dehumanizer cut with Ronnie James Dio on vocals), Pantera's I'm Broken, and Slayer's Raining Blood. Thrash-metal royalty hosting a metal station in Leonida is pitch-perfect casting.

Flash FM is the returning Vice City institution, pop music with Robyn and Alex — Robyn and Alex Consani behind the mics. Previewed: Charli xcx's Good Ones, MGMT's Electric Feel, and Zara Larsson & PinkPantheress' Midnight Sun (Girls Trip). Flash FM coming back to Vice City is a continuity hug for anyone who played the original in 2002.
Dirty South Classics is southern hospitality from Trick and Trina — Trick Daddy and Trina blasting regional rap and hip-hop classics. Previewed: David Banner ft. Lil' Flip's Like A Pimp, JT Money ft. SolĂ©'s Who Dat, and DJ Khaled ft. Trick Daddy, Rick Ross & Pitbull's Born N Raised. From the beach to the block, as Rockstar puts it.
The real headline: podcasts, and radio that leaves the car
Buried in the reveal is the biggest mechanical change to GTA radio in the series' history: GTA VI will feature a series of on-demand podcasts, "for Jason and Lucia to experience beyond Leonida's terrestrial radio," Rockstar said. And both the radio and the podcasts can be listened to in vehicles or on foot through newly introduced headphones and earbuds connected to their smartphones.
This sounds small and it isn't. Radio has always been a car thing in GTA — a car thing and a save-point thing. Untethering it means the audio layer becomes part of the walking-around experience, which is where these open worlds live or die. A true-crime podcast series rolling while Lucia walks a neon strip at night is atmosphere you cannot get from a playlist. Rockstar is treating audio as world-building, and it's the kind of system that only matters because Rockstar is the one doing it.

Three new screenshots, and the noise gets quieter
Alongside the music section, Rockstar shared three new screenshots of Leonida — and notably, these ones spotlight Vice City and the surrounding areas rather than Jason and Lucia. After years of character-focused marketing, Rockstar is now selling the place. Which tracks: the station descriptions read like a tourism brochure for a state that doesn't exist. Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, the Leonida Keys — the radio is mapping the world for us.
Meanwhile, yesterday's chaos officially has a period at the end of it. After The Verge reported that Xbox had secured exclusive GTA VI cloud-streaming rights, Xbox chief strategy officer Matthew Ball posted on X that the game "will not be streaming exclusively or to PC" — and Verge reporter Tom Warren later apologized, saying the situation was more complicated than he first understood. We've got the full story in Xbox walks back the exclusive cloud-streaming claim and the 42-day GTA VI watch roundup. Short version: still November 19, still PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, still no PC version announced.
What this tells us about the game
Here's the thing about GTA's music reveals: they're never just music reveals. The host list is a statement of intent about the world. Bad Bunny and dembow for the Latin core of Leonida. Country outlaws for the Grassrivers. Burna Boy and amapiano for a genuinely global Vice City. Thrash legends for the metal underbelly. Trick Daddy and Trina — actual Miami royalty — for the southern rap lineage that built this city's real-world sound.
Rockstar doesn't license music as decoration. Every GTA soundtrack is a thesis about the setting, and this thesis says Leonida is the most musically ambitious place Rockstar has ever built. Forty-two days to go, and the radio is already telling us the story.
