Lenovo Is Taking the CES 2027 Keynote to the Sphere in Las Vegas

The biggest stage in tech keynotes is getting an encore. The Consumer Technology Association announced Wednesday that Lenovo will bring its flagship Tech World event to CES 2027 for a keynote experience at Sphere in Las Vegas — Tech World @ CES on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2027, with chairman and CEO Yuanqing Yang taking the stage alongside other “human AI leaders” at 5pm PT. The CTA, which owns and produces CES, said the keynote will deliver immersive visuals and audio built around Lenovo’s Hybrid AI vision — “an experience unlike anything CES audiences have seen before.”

If that sounds familiar, it should. Lenovo did exactly this in January 2026, turning its Tech World keynote into a full-dome spectacle at Sphere — and it worked well enough that both sides are running it back. For a venue that has hosted residencies and 24-show rock takeovers, a CES keynote might be the most on-brand use of the building yet: a tech company showing off the future of computing on the largest screen on Earth.

The 2026 precedentWhat Lenovo did last time at Sphere

Last January’s Tech World @ CES set the template. Yang used the Sphere’s curved canvas to roll out Lenovo’s AI-era pitch: Qira, the company’s “AI super agent” meant to orchestrate tasks across Lenovo and Motorola devices; a six-legged Daystar AI robodog built for industrial inspection; and an AI Cloud Gigafactory developed with NVIDIA, aimed at unifying Lenovo’s hybrid AI infrastructure with NVIDIA’s accelerated computing for trillion-parameter workloads.

The part most people missed: Lenovo wasn’t just presenting at Sphere — its hardware was helping run the show. Under a multi-year partnership, Lenovo became an Official Technology Partner of Sphere Studios, with hundreds of ThinkSystem servers powered by AMD EPYC processors and NVIDIA accelerated computing integrated into the venue’s content-creation workflows. When the keynote visuals bent around the dome, Lenovo silicon was doing a meaningful share of the bending.

The 2027 calendarWho else is keynoting

Lenovo’s announcement fills in another square of the CES 2027 keynote calendar. Waymo co-CEO Tekedra Mawakana was announced as a keynoter on September 21, and Stellantis revealed its human-centered mobility keynote on September 8. The CTA has also been stacking the show floor: Chile joins as a global pavilion presence for the first time, and the CES Asia Unveiled roadshow expanded to Seoul and Hong Kong on the road to January.

The backdrop is a show with momentum. The CTA’s audit of CES 2026 showed four percent growth in participation, and the association has been steadily announcing 2027 programming since the spring — including a new CES Innovation Awards category for art tech. A Sphere keynote from the world’s largest PC maker is exactly the kind of anchor the calendar needed.

The CTA has been building the 2027 show for months. Beyond the keynotes, the association took its CES Asia Unveiled roadshow to Seoul and Hong Kong in August, welcomed Chile as a first-time global pavilion presence in September, and kept its research arm busy with fall studies on AI convenience tools and the costs of fully reshoring tech manufacturing. The message is consistent: CES keeps widening its aperture, and the keynote stage is where that breadth gets its marquee moments.

What to watchHybrid AI, on the biggest screen in Vegas

So what actually happens on January 6? The release keeps it high-level: Tech World @ CES will explore how Lenovo is defining the future through the fusion of AI, devices, infrastructure, and services. Translation: expect the Hybrid AI story — personal agents like Qira on the device side, enterprise infrastructure on the data-center side — staged as an immersive narrative rather than a spec-sheet readout.

There’s also the venue itself. When Lenovo keynoted at Sphere in January 2026, the building’s exterior turned the keynote into a citywide spectacle before anyone took a seat — the original partnership announcement said the show would come with “an accompanying spectacle that is only possible at Sphere,” and the 2026 show delivered it. Expect the 2027 edition to lean even harder into the building as the medium, not just the room.

Reasonable bets for the lineup: an update on the Qira agent ecosystem a year after its debut, new AI PC and Motorola hardware, and more on the enterprise AI factory push Lenovo has been building with NVIDIA. When Lenovo first announced the Sphere partnership, it promised visionary tech leaders, partners, artists, and influencers alongside Yang, with more speaker announcements to come — expect the 2027 guest list to trickle out over the next couple of months.

And the Vegas angle is real. CES is this city’s biggest week of the year, and Sphere has spent 2026 cementing itself as the venue where residencies and spectacles live — from Mayer to Metallica. A keynote that treats the building as the medium, not just the room, is the kind of thing that only happens here. January 6, 5pm PT. Set a reminder; the dome will be hard to miss. The CTA’s release promises more speaker and guest announcements in the months ahead — and if last January’s show is any guide, Lenovo will use every inch of that curved canvas.
