Lil Baby's fifth studio album is out. FRESH arrived Friday, November 6 through Quality Control Music and Motown Records, and the shape of it is the first thing you notice: 17 tracks, guests on exactly two of them, and the biggest collaboration saved for track seven. Previously covered the October announcement; this is the record itself, in hand.
"All My Partnas" is the crowded room. Future, Young Thug and Rylo Rodriguez all land on the same song, a reunion with some weight behind it — Thug and Future last shared a track with Baby on "Dum, Dumb, and Dumber" from WHAM. Rodriguez returns on his own for "In Your Head" at track 13. Every other song on the album is Baby by himself.
The production credits stay just as tight. London on da Track produced "All My Partnas." Metro Boomin produced the closer, "Keep Goin," which means the album's last word belongs to the producer Atlanta built its last decade on. Pharrell Williams sits at track ten with "Dead Fresh," and Universal Music Canada's release-day announcement names all three among the album's producers.
"Dead Fresh" did the advance work for this album months ago. Williams premiered the song in June at Louis Vuitton's Spring-Summer 2027 menswear show in Paris, with Baby watching from the front row, and the single followed in July. It peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached No. 1 at both Urban and Rhythmic radio, per the label's release. A rap single that starts life on a Paris runway and ends up running American radio is a rollout with a point of view.
Release day brought a new visual with it. "Mr. Do Something," the album's second track, got its official video on Friday — directed by ILMATO, it puts Baby in a car rolling through his old Atlanta neighborhood, watching out the window while the neighborhood pours into the street and chases after him. It is a homecoming shot like a parade he did not have to organize.
Look at the cover after a few songs and it reads differently. The artwork is a profile portrait of Baby assembled as a mosaic of childhood photographs — hundreds of small pictures of the kid, arranged into the face of the man. He revealed it on October 20 with the release date and the full tracklist, four days after posting a studio whiteboard with all 17 titles written out and the countdown started.
The rollout saved its strangest object for the week of release. On November 4, Baby posted a custom alligator to his Instagram Stories: a playable Xbox Series X built into its belly, a chewed-up controller resting between its 60 teeth. The piece is called the Series X-BITE. John Nolan Studio built it, and the Interscope release announcing it says Baby was the first person in the world to play it. Xbox is giving the one-of-one console away, with entries closing November 10.
What FRESH has to live up to is his own catalog. WHAM opened 2025 at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, his fourth album to debut on top, and The Leaks mixtape closed that same year. Behind both sits My Turn: the label's biography notes the 2020 album finished its year as the best-selling and most-streamed album in the country across all genres, and it puts his career streams past 30 billion.
Release weekend has not slowed down. Baby performed at halftime of the Atlanta Hawks game on Saturday night, a hometown slot at State Farm Arena, and tonight he performs on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon after Sunday Night Football. The next date on the calendar is his own: Lil Baby: Fresh Prince of Atlanta, a birthday celebration show set for December 5 at State Farm Arena.
