Race week in Las Vegas is no longer just a Saturday night on a street circuit. It is a full week of lounges, show cars, auctions, chef takeovers and cocktail residencies spread across the Strip, and on Wednesday MGM Resorts laid out the biggest version of it yet. PR Newswire reported that MGM Resorts announced its race-week lineup on Oct. 21 for the Formula 1 Heineken Las Vegas Grand Prix 2026, running Nov. 19-21, under a banner the company calls the MGM Zone. Sports Illustrated reported the same rollout, describing MGM as the operator at the helm of the Formula 1 takeover of the Strip and noting that MGM has extended its role as a founding partner of the race through 2030.

The MGM Zone, according to PR Newswire, spans four resorts: Bellagio, ARIA, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and Park MGM. From Nov. 16-22, PR Newswire reported, those properties will host fan zones, food and beverage specials, and immersive art and fashion pop-ups leading into and through race weekend. For visitors, the practical effect is simple: you do not need a grandstand ticket to spend race week inside the event. The resorts themselves become the venue, from a show car you can photograph around the clock to a dinner you can only book once.

Drivers, show cars and an auction at the center of the zone

The racing hardware comes first. PR Newswire reported that the TGR Haas F1 Team will display an official show car and memorabilia on Level 2 of the Chelsea Tower at The Cosmopolitan from Nov. 16-22, accessible around the clock, with a team meet-and-greet on Wednesday, Nov. 18 on a first-come, first-served basis with limited capacity. Sports Illustrated reported the same display and meet-and-greet dates, and noted that the participating drivers and team members are still to be announced. At ARIA, PR Newswire reported, the Smooth Operator Lounge returns to Proper Eats, inspired by driver Carlos Sainz and built around custom apparel and signature cocktails, with a special appearance by Sainz himself. Sports Illustrated reported that the lounge sits next to Easy's Cocktail Lounge, which will offer live music and a speakeasy-style atmosphere through race week.

Also at ARIA, PR Newswire reported, The Auction by Google Play runs Nov. 18-20 at Iris, with a giant gacha game to earn auction tokens, model cars to customize and a keychain charm bar. The complimentary experience is open noon to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. on Friday, PR Newswire reported, culminating in a live auction Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., with priority admission for Google Play Points members. It is a telling piece of the modern Grand Prix economy: the race sells the weekend, and global consumer brands buy their way into the middle of it.

The Shoey Bar returns to Bellagio, fountain water and all

No single activation says Las Vegas Grand Prix quite like the Shoey Bar. PR Newswire reported that the fan-favorite bar returns to Bellagio Nov. 19-21, opening from 11 a.m. to noon for eligible MGM Rewards members and from noon until late for the public. Guests can sip from limited-edition Sparco motorsport shoes that, according to PR Newswire, feature a capsule of water from the Fountains of Bellagio embedded in the design. Sports Illustrated reported the same returning format, with live music and cocktails alongside the collectible shoes.

Two new helmet-served offerings raise the stakes further. PR Newswire reported that The Lid is a punchbowl cocktail and The Kit is a caviar service, both served in transformed race helmets, with The Kit including caviar and accoutrements, two Shoey cocktails and personalized butler service. If you are keeping score at home, that is a drink served in a shoe, a punchbowl served in a helmet, and caviar served in another helmet, all within sight of the fountains. Race week in Las Vegas does not do understatement, and MGM is not pretending otherwise. Readers following the racing itself can keep up in Previously's Sports section, and the wider week's headlines are in the newsroom.

Dinners and residencies worth booking now

The culinary lineup is where race week turns into a genuine food festival. PR Newswire reported that celebrated private chef Olivia Tiedemann takes over Scarpetta at The Cosmopolitan on Friday, Nov. 20 for an exclusive dinner built around her cookbook. At Bellagio, PR Newswire reported, Tokyo's Yoroniku will take over Yellowtail for one day only on Nov. 19, paired with cocktails curated by award-winning bar professional Shingo Gokan, and Yellowtail will stay open until 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday with patio views of the Fountains of Bellagio and a $150 minimum spend per guest. Sports Illustrated reported the same one-night Yellowtail collaboration and late-night hours.

The mixology residencies give New York two flags on the Strip at once. PR Newswire reported that Superbueno takes over The Vault at Bellagio Nov. 19-21, running 5 p.m. to midnight Thursday and 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday, while Employees Only brings its West Village speakeasy to the Reserve Bar at Park MGM Nov. 18-22. At Park MGM, PR Newswire reported, the Pepsi Flavor Circuit takes place at 3758 Las Vegas Blvd on Nov. 19 from 1 to 8 p.m. and Nov. 20-21 from noon to 8 p.m., pairing signature bites from Las Vegas restaurants with Pepsi pairings, live DJs and celebrity appearances. Sports Illustrated reported the same Park MGM dates and location for the Flavor Circuit.

Fashion, wine and the long week around the race

Retail gets its own lap. PR Newswire reported that the Ferrari Boutique at Bellagio will sell exclusive items and one-of-one clothing only available during race weekend, open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., a schedule Sports Illustrated also reported. PR Newswire reported that Michael Mina at Bellagio will host wine tastings Nov. 19-21 from 2 to 3 p.m. each day, featuring Silver Oak, Williams Selyem and Quintessa, limited to 30 guests per day at $145 for one day or $399 for all three days. Add live painting by Armin Flossdorf at The Cosmopolitan, which PR Newswire reported runs Nov. 18-21, and the week fills in well beyond the three nights of racing.

The Grand Prix itself runs Saturday night, Nov. 21, on the Las Vegas Strip Circuit. What MGM announced Wednesday is the city around the race: four resorts, a week of programming, and a clear bet that the fans who fly in for 90 minutes of racing will happily spend six days eating, drinking and shopping their way toward lights out. Based on the first three years of this race, it is a bet Las Vegas keeps winning.
