‘Reasonable Doubt’ Season 4 Is Out Today: Three Episodes, a Shooting Aftermath, and Jax’s Fight to Save Her Firm

Season 4 of Hulu's legal drama arrives today with three episodes: Jax Stewart is hospitalized after the Season 3 office shooting, the Stewart Firm is on shaky ground, and a superstar client's media disaster threatens everything — with Tank and Meagan Good joining the cast.

It’s premiere day in the Onyx Collective universe. Reasonable Doubt Season 4 arrives today — Tuesday, October 6, 2026 — with a three-episode premiere on Hulu (and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the U.S.), according to Wikipedia, Pixel Twelve and People. The ten-episode season picks up seconds after one of the nastiest cliffhangers in recent memory: criminal defense attorney Jax Stewart, shot and bleeding on the floor of her own new law firm.

The premiereThree episodes today, weekly after

Hulu is going big on day one. The first three episodes of Season 4 premiere today, with the remaining episodes rolling out weekly afterward, according to Pixel Twelve, which quoted Disney’s September 23 update directly: “three episodes arrive October 6, then new episodes come on Tuesdays,” across a ten-episode season. Outlets differ slightly on the exact weekly cadence — TV Series Finale has new episodes each Tuesday through November 24, while People reported new episodes airing every Thursday — but the shape of the rollout is the same: a triple-episode launch, then one a week.

The streamer is also making Season 3 easier to catch up on. Pixel Twelve noted Disney is offering Season 3 to all Disney+ subscribers in the U.S. through November 2 as part of a limited Hulu sampling offer — though that promotion is not the same as full Hulu access and may vary with subscription and location.

The cliffhangerAfter the gunshot

Season 3 ended with a vengeful Monica showing up at Jax’s new law firm and firing a gunshot, as ComingSoon.net recapped in its trailer breakdown. The Season 4 trailer answers the cliffhanger bluntly: Jax was shot and is now hospitalized, and as ComingSoon.net wrote in its trailer breakdown, the bedside moment has Corey Cash at her side saying, “I don’t know if you can hear me or not, but I need you to fight.” Archyde reported Jax fights for her life on life support after being shot by Monica (Brandee Evans) in the office shooting.

The fallout radiates outward. Jax’s newly established firm, The Stewart Firm, is on shaky ground as their old firm tries to snatch away their biggest client, according to ComingSoon.net — and Monica is shown facing a trial. Pixel Twelve summarized the setup: the attack shakes both Jax’s family and the newly formed Stewart Firm, while Jax defends a loyal client caught in a growing media scandal. Amid the wreckage, Lewis Stewart offers the season’s thesis line, according to ComingSoon.net: “This is not the end of your story. It can’t be.”

That loyal client is R&B superstar Eric “Tank” Cropper, now — in the official trailer description via WatchMeBro — “at the center of a spiraling public scandal,” a media disaster big enough to pull the whole firm into a case where, as the trailer puts it, the cost of survival could be devastating.

The castNew regulars, heavyweight guests

Emayatzy Corinealdi returns as Jax Stewart, alongside McKinley Freeman, Tim Jo and Angela Grovey, according to ComingSoon.net. Season 4 promotes two new series regulars: R&B artist Durrell “Tank” Babbs as wealthy client Cropper, and Meagan Good as Regina Harris, the newly appointed district attorney, per Archyde. TV Series Finale confirmed the same additions when Hulu released the premiere date, trailer and key art.

The guest bench is stacked. Returning recurring players include Morris Chestnut (as Corey Cash), Joseph Sikora and Brandee Evans, with guests including La La Anthony, Rutina Wesley, Taylor Polidore Williams, DeVaughn Nixon and Alexxis Lemire, according to ComingSoon.net. Behind the camera, the show was created and written by Raamla Mohamed — the former Scandal writer whose series is loosely based on the experiences of celebrity attorney Shawn Holley, also a producer — with executive producers including Kerry Washington, Pilar Savone, Larry Wilmore, Anton Cropper and Lena Cordina. The series comes from Onyx Collective and is produced by 20th Television (Disney Television Studios). Washington directed the series pilot, per Wikipedia.

The show has been a slow-burn franchise builder for Hulu since its September 27, 2022 debut. Season 2 arrived August 22, 2024 with a two-episode launch across ten episodes; Season 3 premiered September 18, 2025, also with two episodes and ten in total, according to Wikipedia. The fourth-season renewal came November 6, 2025.

The themes“The wildest ride”

Corinealdi isn’t underselling it. In an exclusive with People, she promised the new season will be “the wildest ride,” adding — as People wrote in the exclusive — that the aftermath of the Season 3 cliffhanger “will really shake things up for all of the characters.” The season continues to explore heavier topics — systemic healthcare bias, PTSD and addiction — that impact the community, and for Corinealdi, addressing them makes the work “more meaningful.”

“It adds meaning to it and you know that it’s going to relate to someone in some kind of way because that’s just the nature of art,” she told People in the exclusive. “Someone is going to connect to that,” she added. On Jax’s arc, she was direct, again speaking to People: “She has to reckon with that for herself, and that is what is going to be the catalyst for the journey that she’s on.”

The first three episodes of Reasonable Doubt Season 4 are streaming now on Hulu. For more on this week’s TV, see Apple TV’s Imperfect Women Season 2 renewal — another Kerry Washington production — and the Season 4 trailer for The Diplomat.
