Some Thursdays on Xbox are a trickle. This one is a flood. According to Pure Xbox's daily release roundup, 15 games launch on Xbox today, Thursday, October 15 — a slate that runs from a Pixar nostalgia play in 4K to a brand-new Castlevania, with two day-one Game Pass releases and a farm sim, a party pack and a goose-themed idle game filling out the edges. If your download queue has been feeling neglected, consider that problem solved. Here is the full day, organized the way you will actually choose from it.
The two big names: Toy Story and Castlevania
Top of the bill is Disney/Pixar Toy Story: Retro Roundup! + Toy Story 3 Complete Edition, a bundle with a title long enough to need its own loading screen. Per Pure Xbox, the package pairs the Retro Roundup collection — a set of classic Toy Story games, which Pure Xbox's wider October guide notes also includes A Bug's Life, upgraded with quality-of-life improvements and behind-the-scenes material — with Toy Story 3 Complete Edition, the Xbox 360-era tie-in that has been polished up for modern hardware. Pure Xbox's reviewers have already been through it and single out the simple joy of replaying the Buzz Lightyear level in 4K. Toy Story 3's game was always the overachiever of movie tie-ins, part platformer and part toy-box sandbox, and it is the polished port in today's headline for a reason.
The day's other heavyweight is Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, available on Series X|S, PC and cloud. The setup, per Pure Xbox's listing: Paris, 1499, a city in flames as creatures pour out of the shadows, and Trevor Belmont — the man who beat Dracula — hunting through the burning streets alongside his daughter Rose, Vampire Killer whip in hand. The Xbox store listing fills in the bloodline math: the game is set 23 years after Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse and follows Rose's journey, from Konami with Evil Empire and Motion Twin involved — the Dead Cells pedigree shows. We have covered the launch in depth in our dedicated Belmont's Curse story; here it takes its place as one item in a very crowded day, which tells you something about the day.
Day one on Game Pass: Bluey and the beasts
Two of today's 15 arrive on Xbox Game Pass at launch, and they could not be more different in temperament. Bluey's Happy Snaps, per TrueAchievements' Game Pass coverage, is a photo-powered family adventure: play as Bluey and Bingo, borrow Dad's camera, wander familiar spots from the show, snap pictures and build a scrapbook, solo or with a second player. TrueAchievements notes the achievement list looks refreshingly simple and the whole thing is designed to be played together as a family — calm weekend gaming of the highest order, and do not let the preschool branding fool you, the Bluey games have a habit of being genuinely good.
Chained Beasts is the chaos option. Pure Xbox describes it as a co-op gladiator roguelike for one to four players, and TrueAchievements fills in the glorious catch: you fight your arena battles while physically chained to your friends. The chains are not just a hazard — they are a weapon, alongside whatever the arena gives you to swing, trip and launch at the opposition, all in service of winning over a bloodthirsty crowd and surviving to the next day's card, bosses included. Both titles are available to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members from today, per TrueAchievements.
The other eleven
Beyond the headline four, Pure Xbox's list rounds out the 15 with range to spare. Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea brings the long-running farm-life series back with an adventure streak, and Tech-Gaming's weekly release list prices it at $49.99. The Jackbox Party Pack 12 delivers five new party games from the Chicago studio that has been ruining friendships politely for a decade. DESOLUS is a first-person puzzler set in a gothic city split between its past and its future, while Cubic Cosmos traps you in a fast, deadly roguelike card game run by a goddess with a sense of humor about it.
The tail of the list is where the day gets wonderfully strange: 1x1 Street Football, a mini soccer PvP game where street skills meet street fighting; Creepy Tale: Snow Child, a blackly comic action-mystery that sends a boy named Blizzy into Hell itself; Floppy-Ear Chaos, a comedic brawler starring a furious rabbit; Tingus Goose, an idle game about planting seeds in patients and bouncing babies for profit, which we are simply going to let stand as written; Troll Slayer, a tough 2D pixel-art platformer; Weekend Solitaire: Voyage, for the gentlest possible Thursday; and Wolfsschanze – Operation Götterdämmerung, a short, hard shooter working its way toward a final showdown. Count them up — four headliners plus eleven more makes the full 15, spanning $6.99 curiosities to full-price farm epics on Tech-Gaming's list.
However you slice it, today is the kind of release day that justifies the backlog. Start with the Game Pass pair if you are subscribed, give the Belmonts their due, and let Toy Story handle the nostalgia shift. And if the weekend still has room after all that, our Free Play Days guide covers six more games you can try free through Sunday, with more on the Games hub.
