AEW's WrestleDream pay-per-view returned to Orlando's Addition Financial Arena on Saturday night with a card built around one grudge: Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland, whose feud has defined stretches of AEW's last two years, meeting again with the World Trios Championships between them. By the end of the night the titles had changed hands, the world champion had survived seven challengers at once, and almost every other champion on the card had kept their gold the hard way. Wrestling-Online published the full results from the show, which is available on demand via HBO Max and MyAEW.
The title change: Page and Brodido take the Trios gold
Page teamed with Brodido — Brody King and Bandido — against defending champions Strickland and The New Level, the duo of Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed, in a two-out-of-three falls match. According to WrestleView's recap, the champions struck first: after an early brawl between Page and Strickland on the floor, The New Level double-teamed Bandido and pinned him to take the opening fall. The challengers evened the match when King and Bandido combined for a leg-assisted 450 splash on Creed, WrestlingHeadlines reported.
The deciding fall turned on the rivalry at the center of the match. NoDQ's account describes Strickland connecting with the House Call on Page, who kicked out, before the finish came in an exchange between Strickland and Bandido: Strickland escaped an attempted 21-Plex and set up his Big Pressure finisher, but Bandido countered it into a rollup for the three-count. With the win, Page, King and Bandido became the new AEW World Trios Champions, ending Strickland and The New Level's reign at 48 days, according to WrestlingHeadlines. The champions had won the titles in a Trios Roulette Royale at AEW All In on August 30 at Wembley Stadium in London, WrestleView noted — which makes Saturday's change the second time this championship has moved in seven weeks.
Ospreay survives Clockwork Carnage
The main event asked the most of its champion. Will Ospreay defended the AEW World Championship in a Clockwork Carnage match against seven challengers at once — Samoa Joe, "Speedball" Mike Bailey, Adam Copeland, Konosuke Takeshita, Kazuchika Okada, Ricochet and Darby Allin, per Wrestling-Online's results. Ospreay retained, closing the show with the title intact after a match that put three generations of headliners — and Okada, his defining rival from New Japan — in the ring with him simultaneously.
The retentions: Bucks, Moxley, Moné, Andrade, Persephone
The Young Bucks kept the AEW World Tag Team Championships against the Don Callis Family pairing of Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher, but 411Mania's report makes clear how close the change came: Knight's coast-to-coast dropkick and Fletcher's brainbusters produced several near falls, and the challengers appeared to have the match won more than once. The finish turned on the challengers themselves — Knight tagged himself in over Fletcher's objection, later accidentally struck his own partner with a springboard lariat, and the Bucks capitalized with the BTE Trigger, Matt Jackson pinning Knight. 411Mania noted it was the Bucks' second title defense since winning the belts in a three-way ladder match at All Out in Chicago last month, and that Nick Jackson was heard on camera afterward asking, "I don't know how many of those I've left, Tony!" — words 411Mania reported Nick Jackson saying to the camera after the match
Jon Moxley retained the AEW Continental Championship against Mark Davis, and Mercedes Moné retained the AEW Women's World Championship, both per Wrestling-Online's results. Persephone kept the TBS Championship in a four-way match against Dani Luna, Hyan and Queen Aminata. Andrade El Idolo held off Tommaso Ciampa to retain the National Championship in the night's strangest match: 411Mania reported Ciampa taunted Andrade by taking a selfie with Andrade's family at ringside, both men removed their trunks at different points — Ciampa even tried to pin Andrade's pants — and the finish came when Ciampa brought the championship belt into the ring, only for Andrade to hit a DDT and his DM finisher for the pin. Andrade's reign reached 84 days with the win; he took the title from Mark Davis at AEW Redemption in July, per 411Mania.
Elsewhere on the pay-per-view, Nick Wayne defeated Chris Jericho in a generational singles match, per Wrestling-Online.
Tailgate Brawl: Machine Guns strike first against FTR
The pre-show carried a result with a long tail. The Motor City Machine Guns — Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin — defeated FTR in the opening match of the teams' best-of-five series, in what 411Mania described as the Machine Guns' memorable AEW pay-per-view debut. The match began on the Tailgate Brawl and continued into the main show; Sabin kicked out of FTR's spiked piledriver, and the finish saw Dax Harwood taken out before Shelley and Sabin hit Cash Wheeler with a double enzugiri and a double package powerbomb. The Machine Guns lead the series 1-0. The Tailgate Brawl also saw Divine Dominion defeat the Sisters of Sin, the Don Callis Family win a trios match, and a Death Riders and Dogs team win a 12-man tag, per Wrestling-Online.
The through-line of WrestleDream 2026 is a promotion keeping its champions strong while moving one belt to fresher hands. Page's history with Strickland guarantees the Trios title change gets a rematch-sized spotlight in the weeks ahead, and the best-of-five series between the Machine Guns and FTR now has four matches of runway. Both stories continue on AEW's weekly television, with the pay-per-view available on demand through HBO Max and MyAEW, according to Wrestling-Online.
