GLENDALE, Ariz.
Charli XCX has cancelled the second-to-last American date of her tour, telling fans she has been fighting sickness throughout the run of shows and has now completely lost her voice. The singer announced the cancellation of Wednesday night's show at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, in an Instagram Stories post on Tuesday night, October 20, addressed to her "Arizona angels." She confirmed she is resting with the intention of still performing the final US show of the tour, on Friday, October 23, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
"I am so so sorry to say we have to cancel tomorrow's Music Fashion Film show," she wrote. "I have been fighting sickness throughout this run of shows and have now completely lost my voice. I put absolutely everything I have into my performances, both physically and emotionally, and it breaks me that I can't be with you tomorrow." Her team tried to find a new date for the Glendale show and could not, she said, so the date is cancelled outright rather than postponed. Refunds will be issued automatically to everyone who bought through Ticketmaster, and other ticket holders can obtain refunds at their original point of purchase. She promised to return to Arizona in the future.
An apology that named what fans had spent
Cancellation posts are a genre of their own, and what stood out in this one, as People and Parade both noted in their coverage, was the direct acknowledgment of the audience's side of the bargain. "Again, I'm sorry to the angels who had made plans to be there tomorrow," she wrote. "I know how much time, planning, and care it takes to come to concerts and appreciate everyone's support immensely." She closed the message by turning to Friday: "I am now resting ahead of the final show in Vegas this Friday. I want to be back onstage and finish this tour together with you."
The timing makes the voice loss especially costly. The Glendale date, on Wednesday, October 21, was the penultimate stop of the 2026 US run of the Music, Fashion, Film Tour, which kicked off in Philadelphia on September 11 and has played New York City, Boston, Washington and Atlanta on its way west. The most recent shows were the biggest of the leg: October 14 at Viejas Arena in San Diego, then two nights at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on October 17 and 18, where, Far Out Magazine reported, she brought out Chappell Roan, PinkPantheress and rising pop singer ADELA as onstage guests. She arrived in Arizona at the end of that stretch, sick, by her own account, for much of the run.
The same day brought a brand announcement
The cancellation landed on the same day Charli, born Charlotte Aitchison and a three-time Grammy winner whose Brat era made her one of pop's defining acts of the decade, announced a new partnership with Absolut. Parade reported the collaboration is expected to run two years and include limited-edition products, collectible merchandise, glassware and fan events, and that she teased it at the Los Angeles show, where "ABSOLUT XCX" appeared on the screens and she took the stage in an "I Absolut" shirt. People likewise noted the campaign was teased before her Sunday, October 18 show in Los Angeles began. It is a measure of the schedule she has been keeping that a major brand launch and a voice-losing cancellation arrived within hours of each other.
All of it now rides on Las Vegas on Friday
That leaves one American date standing, and it is the biggest room of the three Southwest stops: Friday, October 23, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the scheduled finale of the US leg before the tour resumes in 2027 with dates in Europe and South America, including Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, London, Amsterdam and Paris, and a planned tour end in Paris on February 24, 2027. As of her Tuesday post, the Vegas show goes ahead: she said explicitly that she is resting in order to be back onstage and finish the tour together with her fans. Nothing in her statement hedged the Friday date, and no change to it has been announced. For Arizona fans, the practical position is refunds, automatic through Ticketmaster or at the point of purchase elsewhere, and a promise, not a date, for the return. Previously will update if the Las Vegas finale's status changes, in its music and Las Vegas coverage.
