LAS VEGAS — FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2026 — The best gaming PC of October might be the one you don't own. NVIDIA's October GeForce NOW drop is here, and it's one of the strongest cloud months in a while: 18 games joining the service, led by Battlefield 6 streaming on day one, ARC Raiders at the end of the month, and The Outer Worlds 2 sneaking onto the list in a later update. No console. No $2,000 graphics card. Just your Steam and EA app libraries, beamed to whatever screen is in front of you.
01 The October Cloud Drop
NVIDIA announced the October lineup in its GFN Thursday update, and the headline is the count: 18 new games across the month, per the updated blog, with the company later adding The Outer Worlds 2 to a list that originally stood at 17. It's a mix of day-one launches and catalog titles, and the release calendar reads like a cheat sheet for the rest of the month.
The big ones, with dates: Little Nightmares III (October 9), Battlefield 6 (October 10, on both Steam and the EA app), Ball x Pit (October 15), Fellowship (October 16), Jurassic World Evolution 3 (October 21), Painkiller (October 21), Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 (October 21), Tormented Souls 2 (October 23), Super Fantasy Kingdom (October 24), The Outer Worlds 2 (October 29), Earth vs. Mars (October 29), and ARC Raiders (October 30). Earlier in the month, King of Meat and Seafarer: The Ship Sim arrived October 7.
That's a genuinely stacked second half of the month. Bloodlines 2 is the one the RPG crowd has been waiting on for years. The Outer Worlds 2 is Obsidian's big fall swing. And ARC Raiders — which you can play free right now through the weekend trial ending Monday at 1 AM PT — lands on the cloud the same day as its full launch. Our free-weekend guide has everything in the Frozen Trail update if you want to try before it leaves.

02 Already Live: This Week's Six
You don't have to wait for any of this. Six games are already streaming: Train Sim World 6 and Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition (both new September 30 releases on Steam), plus Car Dealer Simulator, Nightingale on the Epic Games Store, Ready or Not on Epic, and STALCRAFT: X. The Ready or Not and Nightingale additions are the Epic Games Store hook — link your Epic account and they're in your cloud library too.
This week also brought two new GeForce RTX 5080-ready titles: inZOI and Total War: Warhammer III, the latter on both Steam and Epic. The "5080-ready" row in the app is where NVIDIA flags games tuned for its newest server hardware, and it's quietly becoming the list-within-the-list worth watching.
03 The 5080 Rollout Keeps Moving
Under the hood, NVIDIA is still rolling out its Blackwell RTX 5080-class SuperPODs. Miami and Warsaw are the latest regions to get the upgrade, with Portland and Ashburn up next, per the announcement. If you're on the West Coast, the Portland upgrade is the one to watch — closer servers mean lower latency, and latency is the whole ballgame in cloud gaming.
The company says to watch GFN Thursday updates for the rollout progress, with a server status page tracking which regions are live. It's the unglamorous infrastructure part of the story, but it's the part that decides whether a cloud Battlefield match feels like the real thing or a slideshow.

04 The Catch: You Have to Own the Games
Here's the part people trip over. GeForce NOW is not Game Pass. NVIDIA doesn't hand you a library — it streams the games you already own on Steam, the EA app, Epic, and the rest. You buy Battlefield 6 once, then you can play that copy on a phone, a Chromebook, a TV, whatever, without the hardware to run it natively. What you don't get is a subscription catalog.
The comparison to this month's Game Pass wave is instructive. Microsoft just announced nine games for Game Pass in early October — including Battlefield 6 itself, which hits Game Pass Ultimate and PC on October 13 — and every one of those is included in the subscription price. On GeForce NOW, you'd need to own Battlefield 6 outright to stream it, but you can stream it on day one, October 10, three days before it reaches Game Pass. Different models, different math: rent the library, or own the games and rent the rig.
For the GeForce NOW crowd, October settles the argument in one direction at least: the library keeps growing, the hardware keeps getting faster, and the day-one launches keep coming. Eighteen games in a month, with three of the fall's biggest names among them, is the service doing exactly what it's for.
