GloRilla Ran It Back to 2005

Ciara became GloRilla for Halloween in 2024. This year Big Glo returned the favor — twice — and brought Brandon Ingram along for the one that needed a Bow Wow.

The Short Version

The elevator doors open and it's 2005 again.

On Friday (Oct. 30), GloRilla posted her Halloween tribute to Ciara on Instagram, and she didn't come alone. Standing next to her in braids, a backwards cap and an oversized brown tee was her boyfriend, Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram — her Bow Wow, for a shot-for-shot nod to Bow Wow and Ciara's “Like You” music video.

The details are all there: the elevator from the original video, the matching Ed Hardy tiger tees that were everywhere in the mid-2000s, Glo's long ponytail, gold hoops and stacked bangles. She captioned it with Ciara's own line from the song: “Cause Ian never had nobody do me like youuuu.”

“Like You” was built for this. The song — Bow Wow featuring Ciara, from his 2005 album Wanted, produced by Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox — peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The video, directed by Bryan Barber, played Bow Wow and Ciara as neighbors in the same building, sneaking glances and meeting in that elevator. The two were a real couple at the time, dating from 2004 to 2006, which is exactly why the chemistry read as real — and why a real couple remaking it 21 years later lands the way it does.

GloRilla recreates the cover of Ciara's 2004 debut album Goodies — pink hoodie, long honey-blonde hair and a cross necklace.

Ingram's cameo was actually her second Ciara moment of the day. Before the video dropped, Glo recreated the cover of Ciara's 2004 debut album, Goodies — the pink hoodie, the long flowing hair, the cross necklace — captioning that one “My Goodies” and tagging Ciara. Two eras of CiCi, one Halloween.

But the reason this one hits different is the history. Halloween 2024, Ciara dressed as GloRilla. Not a vague homage — Ciara recreated Glo's viral “360 With Speedy” interview with Speedy Morman down to the colorful outfit, the big hoops, the “YWR” chain and the Memphis accent, pronunciation tics and all. Glo loved it, posting: “One thing about it CICI gone do df outta Halloween lmao I luv dis @ciara.”

GloRilla in her '360 With Speedy' interview look alongside Ciara — the admiration between the two runs both ways.

The respect was already on wax before it was ever in costume: GloRilla jumped on the remix of Ciara's “Better Thangs” back in 2022. So this isn't a random costume grab. It's the second half of a swap two years in the making — Ciara played Glo, now Glo plays Ciara, twice.

It's also a rare public moment for a couple that mostly keeps it low-key. GloRilla and Ingram were first linked in the summer of 2025, around her birthday celebration in Cabo, and went public that September; she's since become a courtside regular at Raptors games. The two first crossed paths even earlier, at a Memphis Grizzlies–New Orleans Pelicans game in November 2024, according to Sports Illustrated. She told Complex last December she prefers keeping the relationship private — which makes a full couples-costume debut, their first Halloween as a pair, a statement all by itself.

The overlap isn't only costumes, either. Sports Illustrated notes Glo recently told V-103 that Ingram recorded a track while the two were in the studio together, and praised a freestyle of his that could end up on her new project. The Bow Wow casting, it turns out, may not be purely ceremonial.

Ciara set the bar for Halloween tributes. This year, her own student handed the homework back — with a 6-foot-9 Bow Wow standing next to her.
