GTA VI: Rockstar Addresses Rumored Disney Parody — No Theme Park Starring in Leonida, Reports Say

A Walt Disney World-inspired theme park will not star in GTA VI, per Screen Rant — Rockstar has addressed the rumor that spread through the Leonida hype cycle in recent weeks.

Every fandom has a rumor that feels too perfect to check. For Grand Theft Auto fans, in recent weeks, that rumor was a theme park: a Walt Disney World-inspired parody park, sitting somewhere in GTA VI's fictional state of Leonida, ready for Rockstar Games to poke fun at the most famous vacation destination on Earth. It made a certain intuitive sense — Leonida is GTA's Florida, Disney World is Florida's most famous landmark, and parody is Rockstar's native language.

According to Screen Rant, in a report published October 17, that rumor has now been addressed by Rockstar — and the answer will disappoint the dreamers. Per Screen Rant's reporting, a Walt Disney World-inspired theme park will not star in GTA VI, despite the speculation that built up around the idea in recent weeks. To be precise about what is being reported: Rockstar commented on the rumor, and Screen Rant's account of that comment is that the park is not set to star in the game. We are framing it exactly that way, because in the final month before a launch this size, the difference between "ruled out entirely, in every form" and "not starring in the game" actually matters.

How the Rumor Got Rolling

The theme park theory did not come from nowhere, which is part of why it travelled so fast. GTA VI is set in Leonida, Rockstar's take on Florida, a state that includes the neon-soaked return of Vice City along with the Leonida Keys and the swampy Grassrivers region. A Florida satire practically begs for a theme park, and fans combing through trailers and leaks spent recent weeks connecting dots — background signage, distant silhouettes, the general logic of what Rockstar would parody if you gave it all of Florida to play with.

Screen Rant's October 17 report describes Rockstar addressing those rumors directly, with the outcome being that a Disney World parody park will not be a starring feature of the game. That phrasing is worth sitting with. Games of this scale hide things. Studios deny things that turn out to be technically-true denials. But the honest reading of the report in front of us is the simple one: do not plan your Leonida vacation around a Magic Kingdom send-up, because Rockstar, via Screen Rant's reporting, says it is not starring in the game.

And honestly? Leonida does not need it. The confirmed map already spans the Leonida Keys, the Grassrivers, and the full Vice City sprawl. Confirmed activities include hunting, fishing, and scuba diving — a Florida checklist that is plenty rich before you add a single roller coaster. If you want the deep history of how this series got here, our games section and the GTA Vault collection are the place to start, and our ongoing GTA VI coverage in the news section tracks every confirmed development between now and launch.

The State of Play, One Month Out

The timing of the rumor — and of Rockstar addressing it — is not an accident. GTA VI launches on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval as its dual protagonists. The hype machine is running at full throttle: the game's launch trailer, released October 15, passed 13.8 million views in roughly eight hours, the kind of number most entertainment properties never touch in a lifetime, let alone a workday.

At the same time, reporting earlier today painted a picture of a game still in the final stretch of production. Notebookcheck and Khel Now both carried reporting today on the game's production status, citing Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier's reporting and indicating the game is still being polished and has not yet gone gold. We covered the gold-status question earlier today on Previously — read that story in our news feed — and it is the necessary context for every rumor that surfaces this month: until the game is finished and certified, the rumor mill is grading a moving target.

That context also cuts both ways on the theme park story. A game still being polished is a game whose final feature list is still, at the margins, a live document. But features the size of a theme park are not margin items. A starring location of that scale is years of work, not a late addition — which is exactly why Rockstar's comment, as Screen Rant reported it, should probably be taken at face value. If a Disney parody park were headlining Leonida, it would have been built long ago, and a denial this close to launch would make very little sense.

What Leonida Still Promises

Strip the theme park away and the game Rockstar has actually confirmed remains enormous. Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval anchor a story set across a state that folds Vice City's neon, the Keys' island sprawl, and the Grassrivers' swamps into one map. Hunting, fishing, and scuba diving headline a confirmed activity list that leans hard into Florida's outdoors — the real Florida, not the turnstile version. There is a version of this game where the outdoors IS the theme park, and the rides are the ones you make yourself at 3 a.m. on an airboat.

It is also worth remembering Rockstar's parody track record. The series has spent 25 years skewering everything from cola brands to social media to the American dream itself. A Disney World parody would have been one joke in a very large jokebook — fun to imagine, fun to rumor about, and ultimately optional. Screen Rant's reporting suggests Rockstar decided, or is at least saying, that this particular joke is not in the game in a starring role. The jokebook, by every confirmed account, is still very, very thick.

The Final Month of Rumor Season

Expect more of this. Between now and November 19, every week will bring a new Leonida legend, and Rockstar will shoot down exactly the ones it feels like shooting down — which is itself a kind of marketing, whether intended or not. The theme park rumor had a good run. Per Screen Rant, Rockstar has now spoken to it, and the park will not star in GTA VI.

Everything else about this launch remains very real: the November 19 date, the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms, Lucia and Jason, a trailer doing 13.8 million views before lunch, and a polish phase that reporting from Notebookcheck and Khel Now, citing Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, says is still underway. Follow the final month with us in Previously Games — and when the game finally lands, the Vault will be ready.
