LONDON
Sunday’s early window delivered genuine chaos by halftime — and the game that stunned everyone started it all before most of America finished coffee. The Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Philadelphia Eagles 19-17 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday morning, a game that featured 13 penalties, two botched goal-line stands at the 1-yard line, a missed extra point, a defensive tackle snapping the game-winner, and a 57-yard field goal with one second on the clock. If you slept in, honestly, we’re a little jealous of you getting to watch it fresh. Here’s what you missed this morning, from London to the rain in Landover to a record falling in Pittsburgh.
Jaguars 19, Eagles 17 · FinalThe walk-off: Little from 57 at the gun
Let’s just walk through the last eight seconds, because they were genuinely unhinged. Jake Elliott drilled a 48-yard field goal to put the Eagles up 17-16 with eight seconds left — the kind of kick that usually ends the conversation. Instead, Ameer Abdullah returned the ensuing kickoff 53 yards to the Eagles’ 39, getting tackled with one second left, and Cam Little — the same Cam Little who had missed an extra point earlier — boomed a 57-yarder through the London air as time expired. Jaguars 19, Eagles 17. Bedlam.
The kicker’s journey deserves its own paragraph. Regular long snapper Ross Matiscik was out with a shoulder injury, so defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton handled the snapping — and his high snap on Parker Washington’s go-ahead touchdown with 3:20 left caused Little to miss the extra point, the miss that let Elliott put Philly ahead in the first place. On the game-winner, Hamilton got it right, Logan Cooke got it down, and Little got his redemption. You cannot make this stuff up.

Trevor Lawrence was excellent in the mess: 24-of-39 for 331 yards and two touchdowns, both to Parker Washington, who finished with six catches for 124 yards. The second of those scores — a 27-yarder on fourth down — was the kind of throw that reminds you why Jacksonville paid him. The Jaguars overcame 13 penalties for 100 yards and outgained Philadelphia 408-232, because the Eagles’ offense simply stopped functioning after halftime. Jalen Hurts finished 21-of-40 for 220 yards and a touchdown, but Philadelphia rushed for 22 yards on 18 attempts, punted on six of eight second-half possessions, and scored three points after the break. Three.
For the Eagles, this one hurts in a way the record can’t fully capture. They’re 2-3 now, losers of three straight, and the injury list keeps growing: they played without Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith, then lost Will Shipley, Jalyx Hunt and Michael Carter II during the game. Shipley’s 2-yard touchdown run had tied it early; he finished with 22 rushing yards. There were bright spots — Jalen Carter was a menace with two sacks and two forced fumbles, Quinyon Mitchell grabbed his first regular-season interception — but none of it mattered. The Eagles went to London without their stars, and they’re flying home with their season wobbling.
Commanders 19, Giants 6 · Q3 (in progress)The rain game: Daniels is back, and so is Washington’s ground game
Northwest Stadium is a soaker right now — steady rain, 64 degrees, the kind of slop that turns every snap into an adventure. And in the middle of it, Jayden Daniels is playing quarterback again. The second-year star missed two games after dislocating his left (non-throwing) elbow, and while he’s wearing a brace, he showed zero hesitation on the opening drive: four plays, 69 yards, capped by Jacory Croskey-Merritt’s 33-yard touchdown run two minutes in. The missed extra point kept it 6-0, but the message was sent.
As of about 12:15 PM PT, Washington leads 19-6 in the third quarter, and it’s been a grinder. Rookie kicker Drew Stevens has two field goals, including a 40-yarder after Deatrich Wise strip-sacked Jameis Winston and Tim Settle fell on it. The Giants’ only first-half points came from rookie Dominic Zvada, who is having himself a day from distance: makes from 51 and 56, misses from 50 and 57. In this rain, from that far, that’s genuinely impressive.
Winston, making his third straight start with the Giants 2-0 in his starts, is having the rough kind of afternoon: 7-of-16 for 72 yards in the first half, sacked twice, the fumble. The Giants managed 70 total yards before the break. And in a fun little subplot, J.J. McCarthy — yes, that J.J. McCarthy, the former Viking — is dressed as the backup quarterback and even got a play in the first quarter, a pop pass wiped out by a Washington facemask. The Giants entered the day alone in first place in the NFC East at 3-1 under John Harbaugh; the 1-3 Commanders are playing like a team that knows this is the day to make their move. Keep an eye on the fourth quarter here.
One moment worth your time: Abdul Carter tripped up Daniels from behind for his second sack of the season, then broke out the Spider-Man web-shooter celebration — a tribute to teammate Brian Burns, whose own Spidey celly was a signature before he was lost for the season with a torn ACL. Per NorthJersey.com, Burns texted Carter with game-day motivation last week. That’s the kind of detail that makes you like this sport.

Steelers 24, Colts 19 · Q3 (in progress)The legend: Rodgers rewrites the record book at 10-of-10
Aaron Rodgers walked into Sunday leading the NFL in sacks taken, and walked out of the first quarter having completed all 10 of his passes. The 80-yarder to Jaylen Warren — a short throw that Warren turned into a house call with a DK Metcalf block springing him — was the 580th touchdown pass of Rodgers’ career including the postseason, moving him past Peyton Manning for third on the all-time list. Then he hit Pat Freiermuth from a yard out for number 581. At halftime: 16-of-21, 166 yards, two scores, a 130.3 rating, and a 17-13 Steelers lead after Chris Boswell’s 48-yard field goal.
The Colts aren’t going quietly. Spencer Shrader hit from 57 and 56 in the first half, Daniel Jones is 10-of-15 for 132 yards, and Jonathan Taylor has been bottled up (eight carries, 13 yards) but Tyler Warren punched in a 1-yard touchdown on fourth down. In the third, Warren — Jaylen, that is — struck again with a 50-yard touchdown to push it to 24-16 before the Colts answered to make it 24-19. This one has fourth-quarter drama written all over it.
The concerning note for Pittsburgh: receiver Roman Wilson is out with a finger injury after coming up grasping his wrist — ESPN’s Brooke Pryor reported it may be a dislocation. For a team leaning this hard on quick-game timing, losing a young separator matters. Our quarterback injury notebook has the full rundown on who’s in and who’s out across the league today.
Bengals 21, Dolphins 7 · Q3 · Jets 7, Browns 6 · Q3The heat and the hit: Burrow cooks, Concepcion exits
Down in Miami, where it’s a sunny 91 degrees and a member of the chain gang reportedly collapsed from the heat in the second quarter, Joe Burrow is putting on a clinic. The Bengals lead 21-7 in the third quarter behind Burrow’s three first-half touchdown passes — he was 17-of-21 for 111 yards at the break, finding Samaje Perine from six yards out and Tanner Hudson from two yards in the final minute of the half. Safety Jordan Battle has two interceptions of Malik Willis, who admitted this week his play hadn’t been good enough and then opened 0-for-4 with the two picks. Battle told reporters during the week he’d spotted a tell — Willis tapping the ball before throws. It showed.
Miami’s lone score came on Ollie Gordon II’s 1-yard run, and the injury list is piling up: linebacker Jordyn Brooks (foot) is questionable, cornerback JuJu Brents is being evaluated for a concussion, and guard Jonah Savaiinaea (ankle) is questionable. The 0-4 Dolphins are staring at 0-5 with the season slipping away. The 2-2 Bengals, meanwhile, head into their bye week with a chance to get right. Burrow looking like Burrow again is the whole story in Cincinnati.

And at a rainy MetLife Stadium, the Jets and Browns are playing the kind of game that makes you appreciate field goals. Geno Smith’s 32-yard touchdown strike to Garrett Wilson is the only touchdown of the day; Andre Szmyt has three field goals — including his 24th straight make — to keep Cleveland within 7-6 in the third. The story here is a scary one: Browns rookie receiver KC Concepcion was ruled out with a head injury after taking a big hit from Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, who was flagged twice on the drive. Concepcion walked off under his own power, which is the best news of the afternoon in East Rutherford. Deshaun Watson is quarterbacking the 3-1 Browns, who are trying to keep pace in the AFC North.
What’s nextThe afternoon slate looms
The early window gave us a walk-off, a record, a return, and a rout-in-progress — not a bad morning’s work. But the day is just getting started: the late-afternoon games kick off at 1:05 PM PT, and the nightcap follows. Our full Sunday guide has every matchup, every start time, and every storyline to watch. We’ll be back this evening with the full recap — and if the fourth quarters of Steelers-Colts and Commanders-Giants are anything like their first halves, you’ll want to read it.
