NYCC Saturday Is Stacked: Percy Jackson, Blade Runner 2099, and Marvel's Mystery Spider Announcement

Friday was trailers. Saturday is the panels people will be arguing about for a year — Percy Jackson closes the Main Stage at 6, Blade Runner 2099 goes public at 6:45, and Marvel has something big cooked for Spider-Man at 3:30.

NYCC's Saturday is the main event, and the two panels everybody's circling are Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 closing the Main Stage at 6 PM and Blade Runner 2099 going public on the Empire Stage at 6:45 with Michelle Yeoh — plus a mystery Marvel announcement for Spider-Man at 3:30 that could steal both their thunder. Friday belonged to the trailers — Flanagan's The Exorcist: Martyrs got its first full look at the Blumhouse panel, Violent Night 2 got its early peek. That's the appetizer. Today is the panels people will be arguing about well into 2027. Here's what's on and why each one matters. (All times Eastern — this is New York.)

6 PM Main Stage: Percy Jackson Season 3 closes the night

This is the tentpole. Walker Scobell headlines a conversation about the third season of Disney+'s Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and Percy Jackson fans have been starving for Season 3 news — so expect a sneak peek or fresh details. Main Stage at 6 PM on a Saturday is the single most valuable hour of the whole convention; they don't hand that slot to a panel they're not confident will fill the room and break the internet. Whatever they show tonight is going to be clipped, memed and screen-recorded within minutes. If you only watch one panel today, this is the one your group chat will be talking about.

6:45 PM Empire Stage: Blade Runner 2099 goes public

Forty-five minutes after Percy Jackson wraps, the other end of the genre spectrum gets its turn. Prime Video's Blade Runner 2099 takes the Empire Stage with Michelle Yeoh on the bill. This is the series' first big public-facing moment in front of the fanbase that will decide its reputation, and the stakes are obvious: Blade Runner is one of the most visually sacred franchises in sci-fi, and everything the show does tonight — every clip, every casting note, every word out of Yeoh's mouth — gets judged against two of the most beautiful films ever made. Prime Video knows exactly what it's doing putting this on Saturday night. This is a statement slot.

3:30 PM Room 405: Marvel's Spider-Web and the mystery Spider announcement

Room 405 is basically Marvel Comics headquarters this weekend, and Saturday afternoon is when they play their biggest hand. Marvel Comics: The Spider-Web (3:30 PM) arrives fresh off Amazing Spider-Man #1000 — the biggest issue in Spider-Man history — with a look at what's next for Peter Parker, Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy. And Marvel isn't being subtle about the tease: according to Marvel.com's own panel listing, the Spider-Web panel includes "a major announcement that will turn their world upside down." When a publisher drops language like that at NYCC instead of at their own event, it means they want the biggest possible room and the loudest possible gasp. Then at 5 PM, Marvel Comics: House of Ideas picks up right after with wall-to-wall announcements, new series and world-defining events. Plan to camp in 405 from 3:30 on — this is where the comics news of the weekend breaks.

The Empire Stage anime block: Black Clover at 12:45, Naruto at 5

The anime crowd eats well today. At 12:45 PM, Crunchyroll hosts a Black Clover Season 2 special screening on the Empire Stage with a live dubbing session — and not just anybody: Gakuto Kajiwara (the Japanese voice of Asta) and Dallas Reid (the English voice of Asta) doing it live. Season 2 premiered October 3 after more than five years off the air, so this is a genuine homecoming for a fandom that waited half a decade. Then at 5 PM, the Empire Stage belongs to Naruto: Junko Takeuchi and Noriaki Sugiyama — the Japanese voices of Naruto and Sasuke — with an exclusive look at new projects, a future roadmap for the series, card game updates and giveaways. Oh, and October 10 happens to be Naruto Uzumaki's birthday. On his birthday. In New York. That room is going to be loud.

Bonus for the anime faithful: Crunchyroll also has the U.S. premiere of Shangri-La Frontier Season 3 at 3:45 PM in Room 408 — episodes 1 and 2 on the big screen before the new season begins.

The collector corridor: Room 406.2 runs toys from 11:15 to 4

The smartest programming decision of the day might be what Room 406.2 is doing: three straight hours of reveals aimed at the people who spend real money at this convention. At 11:15 AM, Transformers & G.I. Joe: What's Next for the Energon Universe puts Robert Kirkman, Dan Watters, Tom Reilly, Jason Howard and Conor Hughes on stage to preview the future of Skybound and Hasbro's shared universe — Transformers, G.I. Joe, Void Rivals and M.A.S.K. At 2 PM, 30 Years of Tamagotchi celebrates three decades of the virtual pet with Bandai promising peeks at what's ahead. And at 3:15, McFarlane Toys' Unreleased, Unannounced, Unleashed panel brings Todd McFarlane himself with reveals across Fallout, God of War, Marvel and Spawn — plus promised surprises and giveaways. If you're a collector, you could spend your entire Saturday in one room and not regret a minute of it.

11 AM Main Stage: Bob's Burgers and Futurama open the show

Starting the day on the Main Stage at 11 AM: Bob's Burgers and Futurama. It's the comedy palate cleanser before the heavy hitters — and Futurama panels at NYCC have a way of sneaking in news between the jokes, so don't sleep on the morning slot.

2:45 PM Room 406.3: Star Trek's 60th and Starfleet Academy Season 2

Star Trek hits 60 this year, and the Star Trek Universe panel at 2:45 PM in Room 406.3 splits the difference between celebration and forward motion: Season 2 of Starfleet Academy plus the franchise's 60th anniversary. Sixty years of Trek at a New York convention is going to bring out the cosplay in force — expect the hallway outside 406.3 to be a photo shoot.
