Brandi Glanville is grieving her father. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star announced Saturday on X that her father, Guy Glanville, has died. He was 77. “My dad died, I’m gutted I hate this life right now,” the 53-year-old wrote alongside a broken heart emoji, Page Six reported.
Glanville did not disclose a cause of death, and her spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment, according to Page Six. Just Jared confirmed that no further details about his passing have been shared publicly.
02 The announcement
The news arrived in the plain, unguarded language Glanville’s followers know well — a single post, no statement through representatives, just a daughter’s grief in real time. TMZ noted the loss comes months after Glanville shared in May that her father had been hospitalized, spending 13 days in a hospital cardiac unit while she asked fans to pray for him.
Along with Brandi, Guy and his wife Judith shared two other children, Tricia and Michael, according to reports.
The rawness of the post was pure Glanville. Across a public life spent largely without a filter — from Housewives confessionals to unguarded social media updates — she has rarely hidden what she is feeling, and she didn’t start on Saturday. There was no press release and no spokesperson’s polish; Page Six noted her representative did not respond to a request for comment.

03 A complicated, public bond
Father and daughter lived parts of their relationship in public. In 2018, they appeared together on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars Family Edition, the WE tv series that puts celebrity families through televised therapy. What viewers saw, Glanville later said, was only part of the story — and the edit cost them.
“My dad and I, we left the show in a great space and then, when the show aired, we haven’t talked since,” she told Entertainment Tonight after the season premiered, as Page Six recounted. She said she had warned him going in that the show would air only highlights of what they filmed — “you’re gonna get mad all over again,” she told him — “and ultimately, he did.” Still, she added: “I love him dearly. He’s everything.”
TMZ described the pair’s relationship as complicated over the years, noting they had fallen out again after the show aired despite leaving filming on good terms.
04 The reconciliation — and his defense of her
In time, they found their way back. Page Six reported that Brandi and Guy eventually reconciled — and when she needed him publicly, he showed up.
During her feud with fellow Bravo star Denise Richards, Guy defended his daughter in a video shared on Instagram. “My daughter may be many things, sometimes an a–hole, but she is not a liar,” he said, according to Us Magazine’s account cited by Page Six. It was the kind of blunt, unconditional defense that said more about their bond than any reality-TV edit could.
05 A difficult year
The loss closes a hard chapter. Glanville revealed in May that her father was in a hospital cardiac unit, writing at the time that they were “both medical mysteries” and asking followers to pray for him, Page Six reported. Just Jared likewise noted the May hospitalization.
Just Jared dated that May post to May 25, 2026 — “day 13” in the unit — and quoted her plea directly: she called them “both medical mysteries” and asked followers to pray for her dad. Five months later, the prayers gave way to grief.
Beyond that, Glanville has said only what she chose to share — and this weekend, what she chose to share was grief.
06 Who Brandi Glanville is
For readers who know the name from television, Glanville first entered the public eye as a model before becoming one of the breakout personalities of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, where her sharp tongue and willingness to say the unsayable made her a fixture of the Bravo series. Page Six noted she is best known for that run, alongside later appearances on Celebrity Big Brother and The Traitors, and identified her as the author of the memoir Drinking & Dating.
That public persona — brash, funny, allergic to filters — is part of why Saturday’s post landed the way it did. The same directness that fueled a decade of reality-TV moments was, this time, carrying grief. There was no press release, no representative’s statement, no careful wording. Just: her dad died, she’s gutted, and she hates this life right now.
07 An outpouring
Condolences arrived quickly. Former Real Housewives of New York City star Sonja Morgan responded to Glanville’s post, writing, “So sorry you are going through this Brandi. Sending love and strength,” according to TMZ and Just Jared.
Glanville is best known for her years on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, as well as appearances on Celebrity Big Brother and The Traitors, Page Six noted — but on Saturday, the credits didn’t matter. Sonja Morgan among those offering condolences.
