Circus Circus Rebuilds Its Food Court With Seven In-House Concepts, and No Reopening Date Yet

After a bankruptcy left its old food court operator more than $2 million behind in rent, Circus Circus cleared out the chains this summer. Signage names seven original concepts from Ravelo Brands — but as of Oct. 20, the north-Strip property has not announced when the new court opens.

Circus Circus, at 2880 South Las Vegas Boulevard, is rebuilding its food court from scratch this fall, replacing a familiar lineup of national chains with seven original concepts created in-house — and as of Tuesday, October 20, the property has still not announced an official reopening date. Signage for the new lineup was reported in late September, and a mid-October reopening was the expectation in coverage of the rebuild. That expectation, plainly, has not yet become an announced opening.

The distinction matters because this is not a routine remodel. This summer, Circus Circus closed its Big Top Eats food court and evicted all of its tenants — Burger King, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Einstein Bros. Bagels and Pick Up Stix among them — after the court's operator, FGB Big Top LLC, part of Feel Good Brands, fell more than $2 million behind in rent, according to reporting by Scott Roeben of Vital Vegas, published by Casino.org on September 27 and in earlier coverage.

The road to that eviction ran through bankruptcy court. FGB Big Top filed for Chapter 11 protection on April 16, 2026, with court records cited in coverage listing between $1 million and $10 million in assets and debts. The court briefly shut for a day in mid-April over past-due rent, then reopened under the bankruptcy automatic stay — the legal pause that lets a business keep operating while its case is pending — before the summer eviction ended the arrangement for good.

Feel Good Brands has not disappeared from the Strip. Coverage notes the company also operates the food courts at Treasure Island and Excalibur, and both of those courts remain open. What ended at Circus Circus was this operator, in this space, under a model that left the property collecting rent from franchise tenants rather than running the counters itself. The replacement plan reverses that logic entirely.

The new operator is Tony Ravelo of Ravelo Brands, a name already inside the building. Ravelo operates Chicho's Tacos at Circus Circus, and his company's footprint around town includes Michoacan Mexican, Michos Tacos, Fresh Mex, Mucho Loco and Poke Studio, according to the Vital Vegas reporting. One detail survived the transition untouched: the Krispy Kreme at the property stayed open under a separate arrangement, even as the rest of the court went dark.

What Ravelo is building in the cleared space is deliberately not another row of franchises. Early coverage described eight concepts across four counters; the signage reported on September 27 names seven, and those seven are the lineup readers should expect: Sunny Start, a breakfast concept; Anthony's Deli & Sandwich Co.; Parkway Burger; Miliana's Italian Kitchen; Dragon 88 Bold Asian Flavor; Chixies Chicken Done Right; and Salt & Batter Fish & Chips. Every one of them is an original concept created by Ravelo Brands, not a licensed brand brought in from outside.

Coverage also notes that Ravelo brought on a respected local chef to build the menus. The reporting does not name that chef, and Previously is not naming anyone either — the honest version of this story is that the menu-building help is real, credited in coverage, and anonymous in the public record so far. What the concepts themselves signal is range aimed at families: breakfast, deli sandwiches, burgers, Italian, Asian, chicken and fish and chips, covering the full day and the full range of tastes in a typical family group deciding where to eat without leaving the property.

The business case for going in-house is straightforward, and coverage lays it out plainly: original concepts carry no franchise fees and no royalties, and they give the operator direct control over pricing, labor, menus and sourcing. Every one of those levers matters more at Circus Circus than at almost any other address on the Strip, because Circus Circus is the north Strip's family-value anchor — the property with the Adventuredome under its pink tent, drawing guests for whom price is not a detail but the whole proposition.

That is why the value question sits at the center of this rebuild. Coverage of the old court cited a typical Burger King meal there costing about $18 for one person — a figure described as prohibitive for the family crowds the property draws. When four people eat, a franchised food-court lunch at that level stops being a convenience and becomes a budget decision, and a property built on family value cannot afford for its cheapest meal to feel expensive. Ravelo and Circus Circus have signaled price relief as a goal of the new court. That is their stated aim, reported as such — not a promise anyone can grade until menus and prices are actually posted and the doors are actually open.

Timing is the other open question, and it deserves a straight answer. After the summer closure, reopening was expected in eight to ten weeks, a window that landed around mid-October 2026. Mid-October has now arrived, signage has been up since late September, the seven concepts are named — and as of October 20, Circus Circus has not announced an official reopening date. Anyone planning a trip around the new court should treat it as coming, not confirmed, until the property says otherwise.

In the meantime, the property has kept feeding people, if more narrowly. Coverage notes the Circus Circus buffet has run limited Friday-through-Sunday hours during the food-court gap, and Chicho's Tacos and Krispy Kreme continued operating — a patchwork that underlines how central the food court is to a resort of this size. A full food court is not an amenity at Circus Circus; for thousands of guests a day, it is the default dining room.

The rebuild also lands in a part of the Strip that has been working to hold its footing, and food is part of that fight. The through line is a city constantly re-pricing and re-presenting what a visit costs.

When the court does reopen, the test will not be the signage or the concept names. It will be simpler and harder than that: a family of four, tired from the Adventuredome, looking at a menu board and deciding whether lunch inside the pink tent feels like a fair deal again. The bankruptcy that cleared the old court out was a failure of the old math. Seven in-house concepts, no royalty checks leaving the building, and an operator who already knows this property's guests — that is the new math. October will tell, whenever Circus Circus picks its date, whether it adds up.
