MUMBAI
Vijay Salgaonkar's last ride isn't slowing down. Drishyam 3: The Conclusion pulled in Rs 14.50 crore net in India on its eighth day — the second Friday — an 11.5% rise over Thursday, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. That takes the film's India net to Rs 260 crore, with worldwide gross hitting Rs 407 crore. Eight days in, and this is officially the biggest worldwide hit of Ajay Devgn's career.
Let's appreciate how this week actually went, because the shape of it tells you everything about where this film is headed. It opened October 2 with Rs 62 crore net — a monster start — then Rs 53.50 crore Saturday and Rs 61 crore Sunday for a Rs 176.50 crore opening weekend. The weekdays did what weekdays do: Rs 21 crore Monday, Rs 19.50 crore Tuesday, Rs 15.50 crore Wednesday, Rs 13 crore Thursday. First week: Rs 245.50 crore net. Then Friday bounced back up to Rs 14.50 crore, playing across 14,583 shows with roughly 5.83 lakh footfalls on the day. Total footfalls through eight days: about 1.07 crore.

That Friday growth is the number that matters most here. Second-Friday upticks are the tell — they mean the weekdays bottomed out on audience that saw it as appointment viewing, and the second weekend is pulling in everyone else. Day 8 occupancy backs it up: Bengaluru at 32.5%, Chennai at 34.3%, Pune at 24.8% — the south and west are carrying the film hard, with Mumbai at 22.5% and NCR at 15.3%. This isn't a film surviving on one territory. It's everywhere.
Now the record chase, because that's what makes this genuinely fun. Drishyam 3 has already blown past Drishyam 2's lifetime India net of Rs 239.67 crore. The next name on the list is Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020) at Rs 279.59 crore net — Ajay Devgn's biggest domestic grosser, a record that's stood for six years. With Rs 260 crore banked after Friday and a second weekend running through Sunday, the arithmetic is simple: this film doesn't need anything extraordinary to get there. Trade watchers have it overtaking Tanhaji by the end of the second weekend, which would make Drishyam 3 Ajay's top grosser in India as well as worldwide — and his first Rs 500 crore worldwide grosser, per trade projections.
Worldwide, the coronation has already happened. At Rs 407 crore global, it has passed Singham Again (Rs 389.64 crore), Tanhaji (Rs 367.65 crore), Drishyam 2 (Rs 345.05 crore) and Golmaal Again (Rs 311.18 crore) on Ajay's all-time worldwide list. Overseas contributed Rs 6 crore gross on Friday alone, taking the international total to Rs 95 crore against an India gross of Rs 312 crore. The footfall tells the same story: roughly 5.83 lakh admissions on day eight, pushing cumulative footfalls past 1.07 crore — more than ten million tickets sold in eight days.

The film itself is the third and final Hindi installment, directed by Abhishek Pathak and backed by Star Studio18 and Panorama Studios — the closing chapter of the Hindi franchise that began in 2015. Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar, the family man whose careful planning has protected his loved ones across the franchise; Tabu reprises her role as Meera Deshmukh; Jaideep Ahlawat plays SP Rajveer Singh Tomar; Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Kamlesh Sawant return, with Saurabh Shukla in a cameo. The Hindi Drishyam franchise began in 2015 as a remake of Mohanlal's Malayalam thriller and turned Vijay Salgaonkar into one of the most beloved characters in modern Hindi cinema — the new film follows a different storyline from its Malayalam counterpart.
One caveat, as always: trackers disagree on exact figures, and that's normal. Koimoi's day-wise numbers differ slightly on some days, though both trackers agree on the Rs 62 crore opening and the trajectory. Sacnilk's Rs 245.50 crore first week and Rs 260 crore after Day 8 are the working numbers across the trade.
Early Saturday readings suggest the second weekend is doing exactly what it should — and by the time final Day 9 numbers land, Tanhaji's record may already be history. That's a story for tomorrow's wrap. Tonight's story is simpler: eight days, Rs 407 crore worldwide, and the biggest star week of Ajay Devgn's career isn't done yet.
Drishyam 3: The Conclusion — directed by Abhishek Pathak; Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Jaideep Ahlawat, Shriya Saran. Released October 2, 2026.
