Shakira isn't done with Madrid yet. The Colombian superstar has added a 13th concert to her record-shattering residency at Estadio Shakira, a Monday, October 12 finale billed as “Gran Despedida con Amigos” — Grand Farewell with Friends — that will close the European leg of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. Live Nation confirmed the extra date on overwhelming demand, extending a run that had been scheduled to conclude with its 12th performance on October 11. And she's doing it on Hispanic Day, Spain's National Day. You don't book that date by accident.
This is a residency that has refused to end since the day it was announced. Per TicketNews, what began in March as a three-show engagement grew to nine dates, then 11 by April, then 12 — and now 13, making Shakira the first artist to play 13 stadium shows in Spain on a single tour. The October 12 show starts at 8:30 p.m. at the purpose-built Estadio Shakira inside Madrid's Iberdrola Music complex, with tickets having gone through a Banco Santander presale on October 6 and a general on-sale on October 7 via Live Nation, Ticketmaster and El Corte Inglés, according to TicketNews.
The friends in “with friends”
The guest list for the farewell is stacked with Spanish and Latin royalty. Maluma, Beéle and Dani Martín are all confirmed to join Shakira on stage, per TicketNews and 105.7 MAXIMA. The Martín booking is the one with history: he has never shared a stage with Shakira, but he opened for her in Barcelona back in 2011, when he was just starting out as a solo act. Fifteen years later, they're equals on the same stage on Spain's biggest night of the year. More guests may still be named.
The duets have been one of the signatures of the whole run. Earlier Madrid nights brought out Alejandro Sanz, Laura Pausini and Manuel Turizo, per Consequence and 105.7 MAXIMA — and the Oct. 3 show delivered the one nobody saw coming: a surprise appearance from Dua Lipa, who sang “Antología” with Shakira. The two had never performed the song together live before, and the moment instantly became one of the standout images of the residency.

The livestream that broke the record
The farewell lands one week after the Oct. 3 concert was broadcast globally by Amazon Music, Prime Video and Twitch as Shakira's first-ever full-concert global livestream — and the numbers came back historic. According to Billboard, via Consequence, the broadcast became Amazon Music's most-watched livestream ever by a female artist. For a platform that has carried some of the biggest names in music, that's a record worth the week of headlines it got. Spanish outlet ElConstitucional.es summed up the week's mood, writing that if this residency has shown anything, it's that Shakira knows how to keep an ace up her sleeve.
The scale of the whole production is hard to overstate. These are Shakira's first performances in Spain in eight years, and the Madrid residency is her only European residency on the current tour, per Consequence. Around the temporary stadium, crews built Macondo Park, an immersive fan site sprawling across roughly 185,000 square meters with themed areas, lights, Latin American food and entertainment, according to 105.7 MAXIMA. This isn't a concert series. It's a temporary city built around one artist, and now it gets one more night.

Why one more night matters
Thirteen shows in one city on one tour is the kind of number that sounds made up until you remember Madrid has been selling them out as fast as Live Nation can add them. The October 12 date also carries weight beyond the music: Hispanic Day is when Spain celebrates itself, and Shakira — a Colombian artist who has made Spanish-language pop a global force — closing her European chapter on that night, in front of tens of thousands of Spanish fans, is a statement about where she sits in the culture. After the residency, the tour continues toward its November 28 finale in Cairo, per industry reports, but the European story ends here, with friends, on the National Day.
There's also the simple fan math. Every extension of this residency has sold through. The 12th show was supposed to be the goodbye; demand said otherwise, and Live Nation listened. Monday's crowd gets the version of this show with nothing left to hold back — the farewell set, the guest parade, and a stage that was built, literally from the ground up, for this exact run. If you've been watching the stadium tour boom or the way legacy acts are scaling up for 2027, Shakira's Madrid run is the case study in how you do it: not by playing more cities, but by turning one city into an event the whole continent travels to.

13th concert of the Madrid residency; previously 12 shows Sept. 18–Oct. 11; Live Nation confirmed the extension on overwhelming demand.
