The short version
"Welcome to Impossible Knight presented by Circa Sports" is Saturday, October 10 — Knights vs. Kings, 7 p.m. PT at T-Mobile Arena — the first of five Anniversary Knights of Season X, falling on the exact 10th anniversary of the first home game in franchise history (October 10, 2017), per the team's October 1 announcement.
Saturday is the final time the team wears the inaugural gray jerseys before they're retired from the rotation, and the first 10,000 fans get a commemorative puck like the one handed out at the first home game in 2017. Pregame and in-game will carry odes to Season I throughout.
Fan Fest, presented by Raising Cane's, runs 4–6 p.m. PT at Paramount+ Plaza — free and open to the public — with 2017-18 originals Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, Oscar Dansk, Cody Eakin, Deryk Engelland, Brad Hunt, James Neal and Ryan Reaves plus first head coach Gerard Gallant (autographs, a panel on the expansion-draft-to-Cup-run journey, a jersey giveaway and historical artifacts on display).
The hockey: the Knights are 4-1 after Thursday's 4-3 shootout comeback over Toronto; the Kings come in winless. Broadcast: ESPN+ nationally, SCRIPPS in the Vegas market. And after Thursday's streak-ending crowd of 15,977, Saturday is the first chance to start a brand-new sellout run.
LAS VEGAS
October 10, 2017. The first home game in franchise history — a night this city had no idea would become the origin story of the greatest expansion run professional sports has ever seen. Now it's October 10, 2026, exactly nine years later to the day, and the Golden Knights are throwing the anniversary party to end all anniversary parties. The team announced October 1 that "Welcome to Impossible Knight presented by Circa Sports" — the first of five Anniversary Knights of Season X — goes down Saturday at 7 p.m. PT against the Los Angeles Kings, and if you're only going to one regular-season game this year, the team just made your decision for you.
Start with the laundry, because this one actually matters. Saturday marks the final time the Golden Knights will wear their inaugural gray jerseys before the sweaters are retired from the rotation. The gray was the original identity — the steel-toned look of the 2017-18 miracle team — and the team confirmed in its October 1 announcement that after Saturday, it's done as a regular part of the uniform set. Pregame and in-game experiences will carry odes to Season I all night, and the first 10,000 fans through the doors get a commemorative puck, deliberately echoing what was handed out at the franchise's first home game in 2017. That's a nice touch: the same souvenir, nine years apart, bookending the era those jerseys represent.
Then there's the reunion, and this is the part that'll hit the longtime fans in the chest. Fan Fest, presented by Raising Cane's, runs from 4 to 6 p.m. PT at Paramount+ Plaza — free and open to the public — and the guest list reads like a Season I fever dream. Pierre-Edouard Bellemare. Oscar Dansk. Cody Eakin. Deryk Engelland. Brad Hunt. James Neal. Ryan Reaves. And the man who coached them all, Gerard Gallant. They'll talk through the journey from the 2017 Expansion Draft to the doorstep of a Stanley Cup, sign autographs, and one lucky fan section gets a jersey from a former player. Historical artifacts from the inaugural season will be on display, and there's a ticket giveaway for the game itself. The weekend actually kicked off Friday with an 11:30 a.m. practice at City National Arena featuring members of the 2017-18 team meeting fans and signing autographs, per the team's announcement. The next Anniversary Knight, for the record, is "Vegas Born Knight" — the team's name for the second celebration, honoring Seasons II through V — on Wednesday, December 16 against the San Jose Sharks, per the same October 1 announcement. Mark it.

A quick refresher on why any of this deserves a party, for anyone who landed in Vegas after 2018: the team itself calls the 2017-18 squad the most successful expansion franchise in North American professional sports history, and nobody has a serious counterargument. A team built from other teams' castoffs, coached by a guy who'd been fired in Florida, went to the Stanley Cup Final in year one and turned a city that had never had a major pro team into a hockey town overnight. Three Cup Finals and one championship later, the miracle kids are alumni and the gray jerseys are going into the vault. Nights like Saturday are how a franchise tells its own story back to itself.
Now, the actual hockey game happening in the middle of the party. The Kings come in winless, per Reuters' Field Level Media preview, which is either the perfect setup or the perfect trap depending on how superstitious you are. The Knights are 4-1 and rolling off Thursday's 4-3 shootout comeback over Toronto — Eichel, Howden and Stone erasing a three-goal deficit before Connelly ended it in the shootout — so they won't exactly be short on confidence. (The full comeback story lives here; we're not rehashing it.) This is also an LA rivalry night, and Kings fans travel — which, after Thursday's 15,977 ended the franchise's 420-game sellout streak (that story's here), might be exactly what the building needs. A few thousand silver-and-black sweaters in the upper bowl would go a long way toward restarting the count.
The logistics, since half of Vegas will be asking: puck drop is 7 p.m. PT at T-Mobile Arena. Fan Fest runs 4–6 on the plaza outside. Nationally it's on ESPN+; in the Vegas market it's on SCRIPPS. A limited number of tickets remain through the team's site, per the announcement — and if the anniversary-night crowd plus the Kings' traveling fans can't fill 17,367, then Thursday's streak-ender starts looking less like a blip and more like a trend. No pressure, Vegas.
