LONDON
The BBC has confirmed when the castle doors close on Series 2 of The Celebrity Traitors — and the ending is getting the biggest send-off in the franchise's UK history. The final episode airs on Friday, October 30, 2026 at 8 p.m. on BBC One, and it runs a full 80 minutes, from 8 p.m. to 9:20 p.m., making it the longest final The Traitors UK has ever produced.
The announcement, reported by TV Guide UK on October 15 and confirmed by multiple UK outlets the same day, locks in the endgame for a series that has dominated British television conversation since it launched on Thursday, October 1. Series 2 continues in its regular Thursday and Friday slots in the run-up to the final, which means viewers get two more full weeks of Round Tables, missions and murders before the last Faithfuls and Traitors standing face the Endgame on October 30.
An extra-long Uncloaked follows the final
The finale is not the whole of the night's event. Immediately after the main episode, BBC One airs an extra-long instalment of The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, the companion show hosted by Ed Gamble, running until 10 p.m. Gamble is expected to be joined by host Claudia Winkleman and this year's finalists — including the winner — to unpack the Endgame while it is still fresh. For a format built on reveals, the extended aftershow gives the series room to land its biggest moments properly rather than rushing the fallout into a standard slot.

A series that announced itself in episode one
Series 2 set its tone immediately. At the first Round Table of the run, the Faithful banished Richard E. Grant — himself a Traitor — in one of the most talked-about opening moves the show has produced. Previously covered Grant's costly slip at that Round Table, and the moment has framed everything since: this cast plays fast, trusts slowly, and is not afraid to swing at a big name early.
The ratings have matched the noise. Reporting around the final-date announcement notes that the Series 2 launch drew an average overnight audience of 8.9 million viewers — nearly three million more than the first episode of Series 1, and the most-watched launch episode overnight of any series of The Traitors UK. Episode two followed with 8.5 million overnight viewers on the Friday, with BBC iPlayer catch-up figures still to be added on top. Those are the kind of numbers that explain why the BBC is treating the October 30 final as a centrepiece of its autumn schedule rather than a routine series closer.
How the final run-in lines up
The remaining schedule is now straightforward to plan around. The series continues on Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, building through its penultimate episode on Thursday, October 29 before the 80-minute final on Friday, October 30. The celebrity format runs shorter than the civilian version — 10 episodes across five weeks, compared with the civilian series' 12 episodes — which has kept the pace tight and the eliminations relentless.
What is at stake has not changed from the format viewers know: the celebrity players are competing to win up to £100,000 for their chosen charities, and the final decides whether the prize goes to the charities of the surviving Faithful — or is taken by a Traitor who makes it to the end undetected. Because the finalists are not yet known while the series is still airing, the BBC announcement deliberately stops at the date, the time and the runtime. Everything else is the game.
Why the longer final matters
An 80-minute final is more than a scheduling flourish. The Endgame mechanics — the final votes, the decision of when to end the game, and the last reveals — need breathing room, and earlier finals have sometimes compressed the most consequential conversations of the series into their final act. Giving Series 2 the longest final in UK franchise history signals that the BBC and production company Studio Lambert expect a finish worth savouring, and it hands Winkleman — whose deadpan stewardship is central to the show's appeal — a bigger stage for the night the whole series has been building toward.
Fans in the UK can watch live on BBC One or stream on BBC iPlayer, where the full series so far is available to catch up before the final fortnight. For more of the day's television news, see Previously's news coverage and browse what else is on this week.
The series was confirmed for a second run in November 2025, when the BBC announced the castle doors would open again in 2026, with BBC entertainment chief Kalpna Patel-Knight crediting production company Studio Lambert for a first series that had become a genuine national talking point. Uncloaked was confirmed to return alongside it — a pairing that has turned finale night into a two-part event: the game first, then the debrief with the people who just lived it. With the celebrity edition also credited with promoting Scotland, where the series films, the October 30 broadcast closes a run that has been as valuable to the BBC as it has been compulsive for viewers.
Cancel the Friday night plans, then. On October 30, the castle gets the last word — and for once, it gets 80 minutes to say it.
