Start with the subtraction, because that is the whole product. Four Seasons' press facts list the aircraft plainly: an Airbus A321neoLR with 48 seats, customised from a standard layout of 220. Titan Airways, which flies the aeroplane, published its own case study in April 2026 and gives the fuller count: 48 lie-flat guest beds, 12 additional standard seats, and a social area. The standard seats are not a hidden second class — they are part of how a small hotel worth of staff travels and rests. The guests get the beds.
Each of those beds began as a chair built one at a time. Four Seasons specifies seats handcrafted by craftsmen at Iacobucci, with no assembly line, in Italian leather chosen for thickness and durability. Every guest gets 6.5 feet of personal space, a seat that extends fully flat, and an ottoman that does double duty — leg rest when you want quiet, companion seat when the person across the aisle turns out to be interesting. On journeys that run two to three weeks, that ottoman is a social device as much as a furniture detail.
The cabin's centre of gravity is not a seat at all. Four Seasons calls it the Lounge in the Sky: a flexible social area with a wine cabinet, a table built around a removable champagne bucket, and what the company describes as a floating bar — an aircraft first. Chefs, wellness practitioners and other Four Seasons specialists run small workshops and demonstrations there between destinations. It is the room that turns a group of strangers into a travelling party, and it exists only because 172 airline seats were left on the factory floor.
The service ratio explains the rest of the manifest. Four Seasons staffs the jet at one crew member for every six passengers, and the travelling team goes well beyond cabin crew: an executive chef cooking with ingredients picked up along the route, a concierge, a journey manager and an onboard physician all fly with the group. Titan's crews fly the aircraft; TCS World Travel operates and sells the journeys; Four Seasons supplies the world the guests step into at each stop. Titan's partnership with TCS runs to 2030, and the two companies operate a pair of customised A321neos between them — on a typical around-the-world routing, Titan reckons the flying covers some 28,000 nautical miles.
The airframe earns its keep underneath all this softness. The A321neoLR's long-range tanks give a maximum range of 3,995 nautical miles, enough to cross oceans in the long, calm legs these itineraries are built from, at altitudes up to 39,000 feet. Four Seasons has run private jet journeys since 2015; the current aircraft entered the programme with the 2022 itineraries and is now the settled, second-generation version of the idea.
What does a bed cost? Fares are set per itinerary, and Four Seasons publishes them journey by journey: its New World Icons departure, flying March 26 to April 14, 2027, starts at USD 219,000 per person based on double occupancy, with everything from the flying to the hotels, meals and excursions inside that figure. There is no aircraft price to quote — the conversion cost has never been disclosed, and the aeroplane is not for sale. The product is the seat, sold a few weeks at a time.
Previously's Take
Every luxury airline product is really an argument about density, and Four Seasons made the bluntest version of it: take the most efficient single-aisle airframe in the sky and use a fifth of it. The engineering here is not speed or range — plenty of jets do both — it is restraint, an airliner deliberately under-filled until space itself becomes the amenity everything else hangs on.
